does anyone celebrate christmas?
that use to be my favorite time of year, right now i can't wait to celebrate it again unless i change my mind...lol...but right now it's on!!

I celebrate Christmas out of tradition, although I'm not too fond of the whole gift thing. That's one tradition that we could do without, yet it gets worse every year.
Honestly, how meaningful is a gift if someone is being forced to give it to you? I feel very forced when I have to give gifts to my immediate family members and friends. Half the time I have no idea what they want or if the gift I'm giving will ever be used, and I hardly ever have use for anything that I receive.
after growing up a jw all my life, i have no clue why people would want to be part of any religion.. i don't get the mormon stuff.
i don't understand the catholic faith.
i really don't understand the muslim beliefs and all their levels and the suicide bombers.
why not consider that some people want to express their beliefs with like-minded individuals?
This may be the case for some, but it seems for most that their faith is based on a fear of death. What's the message most commonly used by the JWs to get converts? "Worship Jehovah so you can 'live forever' in paradise on Earth".
That's all the f*ckers talk about. The end of the world, 'surviving' the end times, 'living' forever. Kissing this unreasonable god's butt.
What about other Christian sects? 'Repent' so you can make it to Heaven (which is the same thing as living forever). With all the ridiculous restrictions proposed by Judeo/Christianity, I can't imagine anyone following it to "express" themselves in any way; maybe "repress" themselves would be more accurate. It's a sham. So many people wasting their lives because they think they're going to live forever, when in reality they're going to be just as dead as everyone else when their time comes.
during the last few years that i was a jw i formed an opinion more and more of how i thought god was cruel and didn't understand or care about how his actions affect people.
i started to believe that we humans were just his little play toys and like a mean kid, he'd just kill off some now and then for whatever reason without any concern for his "toys".
in wondering how he could justify killing so many at armageddon, killing so many in the time before jesus came to earth, judging people who are in an imperfect state just because they happen to live at the time of armageddon but everyone else being judged in a perfect state without satan's influence i started thinking that he really had no concern for people and maybe even enjoyed the thought of those who would be "weeping and gnashing their teeth" right before they die forever.

I thought very much like you do at one time. I was trying SO hard to figure out why this god, who claims to be all about love and mercy (*cough* bullsh!t *cough*) could commit so many terrorist acts in order to make his 'beloved' creations fall in line. The ones that really get me are Sodom and Gomorrah and the angel of death/first born thing. The flood is a different story altogether. Tell me, anyone who still believes in this terrorist, does this make ANY sense? Do you really think that this beast is looking out for your best interests?
I've since concluded that God most likely does not exist, and if he does, he's a hypocritical fruitcake who does not deserve the worship of ANYONE. The Bible is one contradiction after another. I'd love to find proof of some benevolent being who's going to assure us an afterlife, which is really the basis of Christianity, but I refuse to follow the horrible creature depicted in the Judeo/Christian scriptures. It's absolutely awful.
Speaking of this god's terrorist acts, WHY were they necessary? If we're supposed to believe solely on faith, why try to "scare" us into following him? Wouldn't that defeat the whole 'faith' concept?
I think the fear concept was introduced by the author(s) as a means of control, and it worked. "Kiss my ass or DIE!"

It seemed to me that the whole movie was about, "Look at these ugly geeks and laugh at how strange they act."
If that's the joke then I guess I don't get it, because it just seemed weird and pointless to me. I'll have to give it another go to see what I missed (maybe).

I never knew anyone like Napoleon, but I saw a few in a used book store once. This was way before the movie came out. They were in the comic section and had those huge glasses on, greasy, matted up hair, and the highest highwaters I'd ever seen. I was shocked! They also seemed to be speaking in some sort of code as they frantically rummaged through the magazines.
Anyway, the dance scene was kind of amusing. Maybe I need to give it another chance (if I can sit through it again). This interactive flash is kind of fun to play with:

I'm jealous of you to, FMZ. This was one of those films that I was anxious to see because of all the hype.
I'd say that over 50% of my DVDs are comedies, so it's not like I don't have a sense of humor. I'm also somewhat of a geek myself from time to time (although WAY better looking than Napoleon), so why did I hate this flick so much? My little bro is a classic stoner and he didn't even laugh at it (I know it wasn't a stoner flick, but it was based on stoner humor).

I envy you, sphere. I was really expecting it to tickle my funnybone, but it did absolubely nothing for me. I think I laughed ONE time during the entire film, and the laugh wasn't even good enough for me to remember which scene it was.
I was really expecting to laugh during the much-publicized "Sweet Jumps" scene. What happened? Next to nothing. It was nothing more than a repeate of the commercials and then it was over. Maybe if Nappy would have fell on his face or skid down the street I may have chuckeled a little.
This scene along with the entire movie was not what I was expecting.

My GAWD. I noticed that the movie got decent reviews and I didn't really hear anything bad about it, so I gave it a chance on HBO tonight.
These stupid ass reviewers got duped. They got TRICKED into thinking they were watching something so 'different' and 'unique', when in reality they were watching nonsensical garbage that should never have been put on ANY screen, yet alone the big one. It was simply about following around some hideous geek and showing his daily activities, which can only be described as BORING AS HELL. He had the personality and spunk of a grapefruit, as did 90% of the other 'characters'. Nothing, I mean NOTHING, was funny about anything that he did. Stoner humor is usually funny, but this blatant geek humor was WAY off the mark. He appeared to be more retarded than geeky.
The movie had no story whatsoever. I mean NONE. They could used Seinfeld's slogan and actually meant it. What points that could be considered as plots were merely small events in his life, like everything else, and didn't develop at all as a plot should. The characters were so ****ing dull that my eyelids could barely stay up, and the 'jokes', if you can call them jokes, can only be described as lame. No fancy, descriptive words are needed. I SO wanted to like this movie since I'm a huge comedy fan. Every time I thought a punchline was about to emerge, the scene would end and I'd be left thinking, "WTF was that? Who wrote this script?"
Unless you're looking for a quick way to fall asleep, please don't bother watching this crap. I'm so pissed that I spent nearly 2 hours waiting for some type of plot to emerge that I feel like puking.
i have 3 here, counting the one for the xbox dvd.
one for the cable box, and another for the tv because it's a dish network flatscreen and they don't share all the codes with the time warner remote.. i know...makes no sense.. .
