Wanting a new computer, and a new OS
by Nosferatu ini'm still running win95, and it has been good to me for the past 8 years or so.
unfortunately, it seems that win95 is officially becoming obsolete, especially with browsing the internet.
some websites require ie6 or newer, and win95 can't run it.. so, i'm thinking about getting a new computer, or even a used one that isn't too far behind the times.

Yes, exactly what AlanF says. If a piece of software is a real issue, you need a platform that supports that piece of software. Of course, no matter which platform you use, you can use virtualization to get at windows to run a special piece of software.
VMWare http://www.vmware.com/
Parallels http://www.parallels.com/
All things considered, Mac OS strikes a good balance of simplicity and dependability.

Two good options (I think) is Ubuntu Linux and Mac OSX.
Ubuntu linux is a free linux distro thats quite easy to use, easy to update, easy to install software on, and easy to install. I totally recommend it.
OOTH, I'm writing this on an iMac, which simply put, is an incredibly good bargin. Its a nice compact computer, running a very nice OS. If you want simplicity, and want to do lots of cosummer-y stuff, like photography, music etc, Mac OSX can't really be beat. And the interface is quite good.

Fact Jews Returned In 538 BC Kills Off Watchtower Chronology
by AlanF inthe watchtower society's 1914 chronology hinges on a dicey chain of claims.
if any of these claims is wrong, then the chain is broken and watchtower chronology collapses.
along with it goes the entire belief structure built on it, including most importantly the claim of the leaders of jehovah's witnesses to have been specially appointed in 1919 by god over "all christ's belongings" on earth.

Funny story, I had an instruction talk on "absolute dates". One of their absolute dates was 539 BCE. So in the body of the talk you had to talk about how this information was beneficial. Supposedly it led you to 537, then to 607 then to 1914. I looked at the first link in the chain, and realized that 537 was based on speculative thinking. I was pretty bothered by this, so I went down to the Eatons Centre to look for some information about Bible chronology. I ended up buying "The Bible as History" (the second edition) which really sort of ended up blowing away some of these assumptions.
I called my Dad up about the discrepency, and his take on it was, "well, its the best guess". I found it very difficult having to teach that from the platform. I sort of muddled my way through it, and no one seemed to really care that I had less enthusiasm. Generally, any talk at the KH about chronology is so over-complicated, it has the effect of impressing whoever is listening, and causing them to glaze over and assume the subject matter is more complicated than it really is (though this seems to be a common tactic with the WT).
Interestingly though, I got told off in a local needs later for researching Bible history in the book "The bible as history" later, which is a very pro-bible publication. Aparently, and I quote, "If its not from the faithful slave, its false." Ironically, the very same book was downstairs in the KH library.

Holy crap, tier2? You put me to shame.... I've got 5 pieces of the tier1 set now... I hope I get some of the tier2 stuff soon. We're regularly doing onyxia now, and last night, we finally beat Rag, so, it should happen soon.
My guild is Xeno. I'm pretty sure we hate you guys ;) email me sometime though... or better yet, send me your email address by PM. I can't respond with PMs, because ... (sigh)... PMing is broke in safari because its coded very very poorly. And its such an easy problem to fix too. :(

Two questions
by ackack inwhat is the psychological difference between "blind faith" and "wait on jehovah"?.
if the revelation book need 4 pages of corrections, how many pages of corrections would the typical rutherford era book need?
more than the book itself?.

Personally, my guild consists of people I know. They have barbecues, get-togethers, and play WoW. Its fun, no one gets mad, everyone is just there to have a good time :)
I have a 60 druid myself. Do a fair bit of the high level raids, and hopefully, I'll get to go into Black Wing Lair this friday. Wish me luck (with only 150 FR) :)
To give you an idea of how SERIOUS the game can get (and unfun) I present the following flash animation http://www.wowcentral.com/download/onyxiawipe.swf There is swearing btw.
