Our plans to move to Niagara are now finalized.
by kwintestal inwell, in 3 weeks, we'll be there.
we're going to go so we'll be with mrs kwin's (heart2heart) family for christmas.

Are the gospels genuine?
by ackack ini've been reading the jesus puzzle and something interesting was this re-ordering of q. its seems like the various pieces of q in luke and matthew have different contexts.
this would support that the contexts for the q sayings were invented.. it seems that paul doesn't reference the gospels in any form.. does this support a late writing for the gospels and therefore calls into question how close the gospels were written to the alleged events of jesus' life?.
how would someone who believes in the gospels reconcile these differences?

I found this an incredible leap.
"Is 'Governing Body' a scrirtural term? YES. In Hebrews 13:7, 17, the term 'those taking the lead' is footnoted and referes to a term in Greek which literally means 'those who are governors of you' "
How do you get from that footnote to a hierarchy, I'm not sure.

Christianity BEFORE Christ?
by freedomlover inokay, was there really nothing resembling christianity before christ established christianity and the ideas behind that?
i mean, a lot of what the principles of christianity contain seem to be very common sense, such as loving neighbor, not stealing, don't covet neighbor's wife, etc.
do you really think the concept of christianity was so ground breaking when it did occur?

Wow, Tetley's work sounds a lot like yours...
From this review:
In the end I cannot recommend Tetleyi´s work. While it is the result of much diligence in attempting to align the reigns of the various kings of the divided kingdoms, it is beset with so many difficulties arising from questionable assumptions that are never adequately defended or even explored. Its call for radical redating not only of biblical chronology but also of many aspects of ancient Near Eastern chronology is based upon conjectured regnal data for Judean and Israelite kings and is at best ill-advised and at worst foolhardy. This is unfortunate, because good work in Near Eastern chronology of this period could serve to clarify any number of problems. Unfortunately, Tetleyi´s work will not contribute clarity to the chronological enterprise.
Seriously though, what does this work say about the Babylonian kings and fall of Jerusalem?

Education Public Talk
by ackack inhas anyone seen the education public talk?
i have the outline over here, but its a talk that i'm sure will now have to undergo some serious modification.
the talk itself (imho) was far more balanced than the current line from the watchtower.. has that happened before, that a talk has to be pulled or reworked?.
