she dumps it all (internet and intranet internal forms) on my daughter
Good Gravy! That is a buncha silliness! But I wonder if I could use the same excuse at my own job to avoid the tasks I personally deem "less than savory" Hmm? Make them some form of religious persecution in order to pass the proverbial buck?!? Maybe your daughter should jump on the bandwagon!

Everybody needs something to believe in.
When we look down upon religious people , we are no better than those who look down upon us, right?
Many of us were at one time very religious individuals, adamant that we were correct and everyone else was dead wrong and ignorant. We were programed to "look down" upon everyone who did not whole heartedly share our views.
How did you feel when you found out how wrong you were? Did you look down upon your own self for looking down upon others??
Despite that we all have many differences, we are all the same, we all put our pants on "one leg at a time". When we adopt the attitude of looking down upon or judging others, our hearts and minds become closed off and it truly hinders understanding our fellow man. -

worldly, ex dub or current dub?
by pratt1 in.
for those of you in a serious relationship, is your partner "worldly", an ex dub, or a current dub?.
my wife is an ex dub like me.. it certainly helps that she understands why i am the way i am, and the actions of her in - laws.. what about you?

My husband of 5 years was born worldly. As he matured in age he became...uh more worldly.
Best thing to ever happen to me since I got the boot!
Only disadvantage to that is he does not really understand how the life as a JW affected me. Especially , the shunning of family & friends, totally foreign concept to him.

Thoughts on forgivness...Is there a process?
by Sparkplug inthough this they actually have learned why it is they need it (forgivness).
am i backwards on this?
i work with people and ex husbands who profess to love god, and all the while when they are angry they ask for god's help to forgive people.

The most difficult thing I've had to learn about forgiving others is that it's not about them...it's about me. Like Scully said, it's making the deliberate choice to not carry that suitcase of grudge that comes with being wronged.
Very well put! I agree whole heartedly! My father and I had a real abusive relationship. It's a long story but when he was in the hospital dying, we had alot of time to talk about everything we put one another through. We realized that we had not forgiven ourselves and that it was preventing us from in turn forgiving each other.
We mutually made the choice to let go and there was this amazing sensation of peace and healing of our souls.
A month later, he took his last breaths in my embrace. I was truly broken but at least I had the comfort of coming to terms with my childhood, and the true peace of giving and accepting forgiveness.

I always enjoyed Judge Maybelline on divorce court! She don't take no guff from no one!
I do have to say, Court TV is great! Over the years I have watched some pretty shocking and scandalous trials and learned alot about the legal system. Very entertaining and educational!

If you're familiar with Spanish culture, especially here in a border state,
Hispanics, by nature and culture are a very superstitious people. One such superstition called "mal ojo"(mal oh-ho) which translate into the "bad eye" or el ojo which means the eye. The belief is that an envious person can look at your children, your livestock or your fruit and vegetables or and harm them with envy. It is believed that if you touch the person or object you envy, you can prevent prevent the "Evil Eye" which might explain the random grabass in question.
On topic, I remember my Dad getting into fights with the brother who lived next door to us. He was a jerk! He shot and killed our dog Duke because he crossed the property line one night. He was a horrible horrible man and he was always trying to pick his boogers during the meeting. NO SHAME!!
