if i wrote to the united nations about the jw's being ngo members at one time, would they reply in the affirmative on their letterhead?

my mom thinks that just because i sent her a "scanned" copy that it is just hackers out to destroy jehovah's organization.

The Bible does say to "abstain" from blood.

the Bible was talking about the eating of blood. So go ahead and refuse to eat rare steaks or blood wurst. But for heaven's sake save the children's lives, their life is sacred, remember....

The Bible was talking about refusing to eat meats that had been sacrificed.

Strange how the JWs take some things literally in the Bible and not others... and btw. JWs are not adhering to the Bible, they follow the mistaken interpretations of the old men in Brooklyn...

WanttheTruth says : corruption and abuse rings true in many different (so called Christian) religions...

so my post was more concerning the "good" attributes (for want of a better word) that JWs seem to have. It is probably right to think that a religion should not be "organised" in such a way.

... if God told you personally that the life of a person is in the blood, it is sacred - would you go against his wishes, even though he has in turn promised you everlasting life?

right... the good attributes of JWs.... You don't need to be a JW or a Catholic or a Baptist or a Methodist to act responsibly, all you need is some common sense.

God never said anywhere to anyone that blood transfusions to save a life are forbidden.... If life is sacred, it is more important to save the life of a sick or injured child with the help of donated blood, than to "pour " that donated blood on the ground and let the child die.... just plain common sense.

It sounds like you are the biased one. I know many wonderful people who are NOT JWs who do all they can to help others (not just people of their faith), who don't smoke, who don't drink, who have been in the same relationship for 10, 20, 30, 40 years... people who wouldn't follow orders from old men who believe they are God's mouthpiece and let their own children die rather than let them have a life saving blood transfusion.... what are the "etc, etc, etc" ???

If you'd read some of the posts here, you would know that many so called "real JWs" are hypocrites, family wreckers, that they would rather protect the good name of the organization they belong to than the children who come forward and ask for help and protection from an abuser...

The Snow is past my Knees

here i am in little ol' new jersey.

it's been snowing for almost 24 hours.

there's around 2 feet of snow on the ground, and it's not going to stop here up until late tonight.. i'm not going to work until friday.....woohoo!.

I am posting to see if it works.... this new board will be hard to get used to.... It started to snow this morning in Vermont, it hasn't stopped all day, fluffy new snow over everything and on top of the 2 feet we still had from the last few storms... soooo tired of winter
