  I was wondering: Am I the only Belgian ex-member of the JW on this site?

  i am still a newbee because i was a lurker for 6 years :) but in all those years i never saw one posting from a belgian ex-jw.

  it would be so comforting to see somebody from my own area.

  so i would like to address the belgians and ask them to reveal themselves to me.

  i understand from 1 of mum's friends that in a certain road near the kh that people have put notices saying they don't want jws knocking on their door etc.. also 1 persons has put on (their door?

  ) asking them`y r u persecuting me by knocking on my door' sort of things etc with newspaper cuttings on her door.. did something similiar happen in your area?

  hey folks, .

  setting aside any political differences ... the french government is looking to ban religious symbols in public, like a sikh wearing a turbine (except the see-through netted kind), muslims wearing head coverings, jews wearing the star of david, and christians wearing charismatic crosses (little tiny hard to see crosses will still be okay).

  give me a break ... i loved the french for taxing the book publishing corporation known as the watchtower society ... but, while i respect the french on many levels (and not on other levels) ... do they realize how they are feeding into the prophetic orgasms of various religious cults and neo-nazi airheads?

  Aztec: Why shouldn't the French want Muslims who come to live and work in France, and use their social services, to blend in and live as french people do ? As I said, if some french woman goes to Saudi Arabia and doesn't dress appropriately, according to their religious laws (scarf and clothes that hide all flesh), and some french guy is found drinking alcohol or flirting with one of their citizens, what do you think will happen to them ? They will end up in jail, or if they're lucky will be deported.

  I don't completely agree with the French authorities here --- But it's not entirely wrong to want the french citizens (Muslims and others) to try to blend in and be assimilated in the french culture. After all, what do you think the Saudi government would do, if Americans and other foreigners working in Saudi Arabia, or visiting the coutry, would dress and act in ways that are forbidden due to their religious laws ? They would put them in jail or worse.

  Letter to Mom and Dad opinions wanted

  hello friends, i wanted to post this here and get some opinions on it before i take the big step of sending it to my parental units.

  We would like to have you at our wedding, but I want there to be more of a family relationship than there is now. If that can?t be done then I guess we can?t invite you to the wedding. And if that?s the case, I will thank you for bringing me to life and doing so much for me, but I will have to say that we should not keep contact anymore.

  Your letter, imo, sounds too much like an ultimatum. You should tell them that you love them and hope you can have a real family relationship with them, in so many words, and you're hoping that they're going to follow their own heart and not obey the sick orders of the Watch Tower Society.... Tell them they're always be welcome to call or visit you.... but please, don't tell them you won't invite them to your wedding if they don't change their ways !

  The UN thing happened between 1991 and 2001, I believe.

  You love them, you want them in your life, your letter should convey that message, not threats.

  Low self-esteem . . . Progressively, over many years, my self-esteem has plummeted to the point it could only be revived by a miracle. For me, it is rejection thad did it. Rejection after rejection after rejection. By ignorant people who don't know anything about me mostly, still, it hurts, and I learned to avoid being confronted with rejection, to the point I have become afraid of being in social situations....
