You agree, so where's your problem ?
Mr. Bowen gave a safe place to all these abused persons, and they want to talk and get it off their chest, they finally learn by coming to the SilentLambs site that they are not alone, that others do believe them and want to help them...
And the leaders of this sick organization hide in their Brooklyn Tower, hoping that it will all go away...

I am not fond of those that are willing to use people that have been abused as children for their own personal fights against the Watchtower. These are being abused again and again, but this time by Mr. Bowen.
Have you asked the abused people why they want their experiences to be known ? They want to prevent other children to suffer as they have, they want to have dangerous individuals removed so they won't abuse more children... They are heroes.

I am meeting with my father - HELP
by wildeflower inok here goes - after 15 years of unimaginable shit (wait, you guys can imagine!
) and a tearful phone conversation tonight with my mother & father, my father is willing to sit & discuss jehovah's witnesses with me (he actually sounds open).
i left the borg when i was 17. my father is an elder.

I understand that you would get very emotional having such a conversation with your parents.
What about asking him not to cite the Bible, just listen to what you have to say and react to what you're saying, as a human being, not a religious fundy.
I agree with the other poster, ask him to read CoC, and then ask him to talk to you again... -

The 'tower and your TEETH
by thinker init is my contention that many of the actitivities prohibited or discouraged by the watchtower are used to control jw's time and money.
smoking is just one example.
the wt claims the prohibition on smoking is for the good health of it's members.

Yes, Thinker, I believe you're right...
Is this an old article or new ? -

Christ - a complete idiot?
by Norm inin the corporate world the top leaders are of course responsible when something goes wrong in the organization they lead.
why should it be different in the religious area?
during its existence the watchtower society has printed all kinds of articles about who are chosen to become elders in the watchtower organization.. the sum of all of them is that these men are appointed by all the big shots in the universe starting with jehovah, which in turn delegates the handling of this matter to jesus which in turn works his wonders through a mystic entity called the holy spirit.

Excellent Norm, as usual, keep posting !

can coc plant that seed of doubt
by jerome ini would like to ask ew-jws jw a question.
when you read the book crisis of conscience how instrumental was that book in getting you to leave the organisation.. i have a gf who is an active jw.... i by the way am wordly.
this religion thing is putting strain on our relationship.. she condems me for obtaining information about the watchtower from apostates or just about anyone who has something yo say about the org.

Jerome, why do you post the same thing twice ?
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=21007&site=3I would say, it all depends ... How old is your girl friend ?
How long has she been a JW ? Has she an open mind ? If she's not afraid to see both sides of the story, she will learn a lot by reading both of Ray Franz's books. -

A Taste For Blood.
by Englishman inwould you eat blood voluntarily, if it was, say, a major constituent in a food that you found to be particularly tasty?.

what do you mean some cajuns... Kenneson...
I ate it as a kid in France.
Aaaah... Boudin with apple compote and mashed potatoes, delicious!
My grandfather used to raise rabbits for food. When he slaughtered one, he kept the blood and it was added to the sauce while cooking it (civet de lapin) Absolutely delicious. -

IslandWoman,
I like your comparison.
What do JWs think is so special about them that they wish everybody else dead and to own the earth ?
