Wifely Submission?!
by freedomlover inokay, what i want to know is honestly how many of you guys out there were actually attracted to the jw's because of the wifely submission thing?

What's the word?
by bagpuss inif you could sum up your time in the borg with just one word, what would it be and why?.
for me it would be guilt.
guilt about not doing enough ministry, not enough study, doing too much secular work, the list seems endless.on the odd occasions i felt i'd done quite well you can bet we'd have a talk saying more, more more!.

and the snowflakes were huge....so pretty. :)
everyone at work was in freak out mode. but the thing is, in bellevue anyway, the snow wasnt even sticking to the ground. i thought they were all joking when they starting talking about going home early. lol. everyone in my dept. transfered their calls to me because i was the only person willing to stay.
in the north east its not uncommon to place chains on your tires to get around in winter...so i find all the panic very amusing. hehe. :o) -

Did your parents find you dates?
by Virgogirl inwhen i hit 19, and showed no signs of interest in finding a nice, suitable brother for a marriage mate, suddenly there started appearing a few "eligible" brothers from out of town at our sunday meetings.
even stranger, they seemed to be meeting up with my parernts and sitting with us.
stranger still, they had been invited back to our house for lunch!

no, but once at a convention mine told a young inquiring mind to reconsider his approach.
...their daughter wasnt spiritually strong enough for the likes of him.
LOL, thanks though. im extremely grateful. -

:"Great works of art and music were not inspired by unbelief.":
so true...sometimes inspired through depression, mental illness, or alcoholism.
creative minds can be quite tortured. -

Pictures from home...remembering why I don't miss it.
by wanderlustguy inhere's a couple of pics that bring back memories...the shop my dad own that i worked in for a couple of bucks an hour less than anyone else, even after i moved out.
and the swimming pool he built for "us" (mainly so young girls would come over and be half naked).. funny, people used to think it was so cool because it was the only pool around town...now it's so pathetic to me.

Do you believe that "all men are created equal"?
by nicolaou in"we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
even leaving god and religion to one side, are all humans born equal?
certainly not in their circumstances, but what about potential?
