do any of you find it easier buying porn than buying a birthday card?.
i have been 'out' for apprx 12 years now and it still feels naughty buying xmas and birthday cards.
My mum bought someone a birthday card years before me and her stopped being dubs, because she fancied him (talk about double standards - he was my age, and she was married) but shes NEVER bought me one, so ive never got her one.
I love getting all the chrismas stuff out, but I did find it hard at first, in fact I went abroad one year to avoid the whole issue. But im well into it now.

But not as much as someone elses dad who asked me on my baptism questions meeting what my intentions were towards his son ( I was 16, I had kissed the son maybe a couple a times). I had to swear they were totally honourable and I would marry aformentioned son as soon as possible - I had a feeling he wouldnt let me get baptised if id a said "well I just want a look at his tadger".

Well apart from being relieved I lived in a country with no bears, I used to think that the punishment kind of outweighed the crime just a bit. I mean approx 70% of men are bald. What if they were all over sensitive prophets of god? There'd be no children left.
Then they told us it wasnt over reacting cos actually these kids were BIG kids, being REALLY mean - but that didnt stop them from using it against us little kids. What a way to bring up your children, threatening them with death.

I dont know how you can keep going though, stilla. The thought of listening to a JW talk at all makes me feel physically ill. I think you can work hard at not thinking (EF - by demonising everything with the trump card - APOSTATE), but if you are really a thinking person your brain gives you hell until eventually you have to give it some leeway - thats what happened to all of us right? My brain felt like a greyhound - it wanted to stretch its legs and run run run. I had it caged up in this small box where it couldnt even turn round. Im not sure when I called the RPSCA in, but somehow I had to let that poor dog out of its cage. And once it got going there was not getting it back into the box.
If your friend has a greyhound he will get out eventually, if he has a lardy lazy creature in his head, hes doomed!!!

I think I prefer recognition, even though I would be anticipating negative feedback, which scares me, cos my worst fear is that I have hurt or offended someone without realising it (now If I MEANT to offend and I realise it, thats a different matter h hahah ahhah haha).
My mums been very negative on me all my life, cos shes been badly depressed all her life, so part of me thinks im wicked and mouthy, then theres the other part of me which is lively and funny and irrepressable - thats the part of me that keeps getting into trouble with the mum part of me. Im a horrible mix of someone with strong opinions who cant keep them down plus someone who wishes she had kept her opinions to herself because they are bound to offend someone! So basically I say what I feel about what I think are important issues then feel bad for the rest of the evening for not keeping to harmless social chit chat.

from what i can see, there are no real teachers left in the organization.
all that's around are manuscript reading speakers that "sound down" whatever crap the organization "unitedly" espouses.
the meetings are dull and boring.....yesterday, i had to bring some medicine to my mother and when i came into her apartment, she was listening to the service meeting via telephone.
I remember when my dad became an elder and I was pretty suprised to learn that there were only about 12 scripts for public talks, they just kept repeating the same ones over and over, but by different brothers so you didnt notice, and sometimes by brothers from a DIFFERENT cong so the excitement of seeing someone new really made you forget you'd heard it before.
It reminded me of the kiddies programme, Bagpuss, of which there were allegedly only something like 8 episodes ever made, but every kid in the UK is convinced they saw a different episode every week for the whole of their childhood.
Maybe they actually rely on us being in a coma, so we wont notice stuff like that.
i hate to say this, as there may be some here that fit this description, but people deep into jesus with all that saved talk and accepting jesus talk, look the same as the person trying to get me to take a hit on the bong.
these people seem stoned hard core and in la-la land of some fantasy and wonder why others don't want to ride the crazy train with them.
personally, i find these people to be almost alien to me, in that they seem so into their religion of "save" and "accept" this, that there is no reasoning or even discussing a different subject with them.
