From what I can see, there are no real teachers left in the organization. All that's around are manuscript reading speakers that "sound down" whatever crap the Organization "unitedly" espouses. The meetings are dull and boring.....Yesterday, I had to bring some medicine to my mother and when I came into her apartment, she was listening to the Service Meeting via telephone. The elder was mumbling about the magazines and in the 15 seconds I heard him, he "ahhhed" 10 times. I don't know how anyone could listen to this crap day in and day out.

I don't miss the meetings one little tiny bit. I used to somewhat enjoy going to the afternoon bookstudy at the KH...lots of older ones there and an older brother conducted it...It was pretty lively and not the usual reading the answer back straight from the book. Of course they soon took me out of the group I enjoyed and stuck me in a nighttime study in Elder Blowhard's tiny, hot livingroom, so bookstudy came to suck just as much as the other meetings. I remember we were working on the Daniel Book. It was horrible. Nobody understood much of anything and I just sat there in a heat-induced stupor thinking what a bunch of nonsense it all sounded like.

ugh....i've hated meetings from the time i could think in complete sentences....
i HATED it when i was living with my mom and i'd come home from work (get up @ 5, work till 5, stuck in traffic till 7) and say that i was too tired to go...and i was. then she'd pull her most favorite jdub line out of her ass...''trust me, once you get to the meeting, you'll feel refreshed spirituall and physically. i always do.'' and to top it off, she said this after having a full day of doing COMPLETELY NOTHING!!!
so being the good daughter i was, i would go, and come home more tired and irritated as hell....then she would want to read a chapter out of the bible with me and do the daily text...NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
sleep was a privilege in my mother's house.
luv, jojo
