in sweden it was told inn a letter from the society today that they hade sold ther assambly hall from 1jan 2007, a bigg hall for 6000 peopel, and bigg hotell and, also camping area , and some buldings, fore under 10 million dollar.we hade all our bigg summer assambleys ther, it was fore the whole country.. .

when we by it, it was a blessing from jehova, now it was to bigg and to expensive, as i understand it the gb gave decide this, our country was to small to have so bigg and expensive establishment.. .

littel sad to think about this was a very nice place, and i think evry jw was proud of it, some might bee very dessapointed now, and i must say this is a defeat fore the swedish leadershipp..

the watchtower societya woman's perspective often times, i wondered how the sisters viewed the organization.. there will be two or three inquiries regarding this discussion so.

any information regarding it would be appreciated.. the way the sisters dressed according to the way the society viewed women what did you.

think about there standards regarding the dress code?.

I hated being a woman in the JW's. I was always feeling it was unjust to be treated so inferior just because I had a lady garden and not a winkie. I honestly couldnt work it out.

Why did god feel that people with winkies were so important that only they could give the talks and say the prayers etc etc

And I HATED the condescending attitude we got treated to. It made me feel like a constant rebel, and i really didnt want to be rebellious. But I was branded as such because I just didnt get it.

Now I love being judged on my merits. In my job its obvious im bloody good at what I do, and theres no question that im better than some men and some women. And people respect me for it. Its fantastic.

this is a story from when i was away from the board for awhile..... my business partner took everything..there i was in the middle of nowhere,and my internet had just been cut off.

the very next day,2 jw ladys show up on my door step(jehovah does provide!)..lol!

!..one look at these two and i knew they were dubs.

Or did they mean the JW calendar goes from 1974 to 1976? I started school in 1975, and im fairly certain it DID happen.

That was a sweet story tho Outlaw about how you fixed their car - quite touching in the end. They were pretty lucky it was you and not an homicidal anti religionist...

Hardships and Assemblies

i just left a post on the "pa convention" thread concerning some of the hardships and difficulties that jws had to (or some here still have to?

) endure just to either get to a convention or what they go through after getting to the convention.. having to trot around from designated doors to the restrooms (rather than being ordered to use the door they told you to) no matter where your family was sitting..... or having you and your family have to climb way too many stairs on the last upper tier to find seats.....while plenty of empty seats remained on the ground floor that were never used that whole day?.

or the designated wts-regulation-sized cooler you had to lug into the stadium because you weren't allowed to leave the site to get a snack or a drink?.

Sitting on the bleachers at open air stadiums getting alternately frozen and cooked as the sun came in and out.

Watching the shadow creep up to where you were sitting, and then scanning round to see if there were any spaces in the sunny bits.

Watching the sprinklers monotonously flicking too and fro on the football field. Once a dog ran on and shat right in the middle of Southampton Football Club field. It was fantastic! It was the most interesting thing that had happened for 4 days. Even more interesting was watching a brother struggle with his concience over whether he should go onto the field (which we were ABSOLUTELY NOT allowed to do) and remove the shit, or whether to obey the club rules and leave the shit to puterify on the pitch. The suspense was better than an action film.

the usual nonsense which we've all heard before, but i thought i'd share some amusing comments from the completely misinformed and delusional brothers and sisters there tonight.

i wish jwfacts, td or any of the other board blood experts could have been there tonight to hear this, now that would have made a good study!

It reminds me of the British sitcom about the department store with all the nitwits working there. lol

"Are you Being Served". I used to love that. It was the only programme you could watch as a JW where a joke about a pussy was made every 5 minutes and no-one thought it was too rude to turn off (because of course it was refering to Mrs Slocombes cat).

How do you combat laziness?

i didn't say "unmotivated" or "lacking direction" or any of the other euphemisms i typically apply to it.

i said what i meant, and i do mean it.. but i can't imagine it has to be this way.

surely there's something i can do to combat it.

OK, heres a sensible suggestion. I have a To Do book.

I write everything in it that I want to do, as that saves me remembering it, and it frees up brainspace for other things. Also I put nice easy to do things on there as well as more important stuff, that way I feel like I am getting things ticked off at a satisfying rate.

Its mostly for work but I put non work things on there too. I have assumed the air of someone who is very effective since I got my book because it does help me get things done. Plus I put a coulpe of nice things on there too like "Buy self some earrings".

Turned out it was a false alarm and it was just my neighbours grandparents getting out of their car in their Sunday best. But it gave me a pretty clear impression of my reaction if any really came round our way!

Oh god whats with the emotive violin music? Its only a building, its not like its somebodies home. They started off by saying all these files represent somebodies homes then they just went on about Kingdom Halls and we never got to know what was happening with the homes.

But hey, as long as all those Misissipi folk have somewhere to go and listen to the public talk I guess it doesnt matter too much if their houses are full of mud.
