Hello/Goodbye (I Don't Know Why I Say Hello/I Say Goodbye) - What Gives?
by BizzyBee inseveral posters (whom i will not name because it doesn't matter) have basically said good-bye lately.
we all responded as usual, with genuine sentiments - how much we will miss them, etc.
but, quite frankly there is something almost disparaging or critical implied toward the rest of us who choose to remain on the board by those who "move on.

I left for a while and no bugger noticed!!!
Maybe the big goodbye is to make sure we dont miss it.
Im all for a bit of drama myself, next time I leave im also going to sacrifice a cat if 10 posters dont PM me and beg me not to!

Is anyone going to the "Walk against (global) warming"?
by serenitynow ini'm planning on going to the "walk against warming" tomorrow.
this event is to try to make the australian government pay more attention to the public's concern with global warming.
i am really angry we haven't ratified the kyoto protocol.

Jayhawk, thats really impressive. We were talking about green energy devices at work the other day. Our science teacher is putting in solar power and a wind turbine, cutting his food miles and buying local produce.
I have been looking at solar power but I think you cna only get it to heat your water here (may be wrong). Its something I would like to do eventually, as I think its got to be the future.
I am really hoping now that the debate has been phrased in economic terms that big corporations will start to look seriously at the issue. Its a very frightning picture being painted here in the UK, of an economic crash as bad as the one in the 1920's.

Did demons ever really rape some sisters?
by hambeak ini had a conversation last night with someone and we were reminescing about the late 60's and early 70's about how a couple of the sisters were telling at the time that they were being molested and sometimes raped by demons.
in our cong they were told to open the bible to a certain scripture and leave the bible open to it at all times and leave a light on.
anyone else remember some of this paranoia?

She claimed to be overwhelmingly attracted to it, and couldn't stop it from using her body to satisfy its desires.
When I was a kid I used to have this same fantasy about Dick Turpin!!

I havent really seen much of what you talk about, but then I tend to stick to certain types of thread (fluff and light hearted stuff, or human concern ones).
I agree there are lots of different people on this board and I think that is one if its strengths. If I have ever posted a question I gets lots of varied replies which I appreciate, even the ones I dont agree with.
I agree there are some intellectual snobs here, as well as some geniunely intellectual people who can always be relied on to post a thorough and well researched response. I avoid the posters whose style I dont like - its not hard to do.
Just like life really, hang round your buddies, avoid people you dont like, sometimes engage in discussion and learn something new or some new viewpoint.
Oh, and I always recognise people as human beings here and not just words.

My brother called
by AnonyMouse inmy brother calls my mom all the time.
he did some vicious things to her in the past.
one of her 'war stories' was that she went to the convention black and blue because he had beaten her up (a son to his mother).

Hi AnonyMouse
your story was both funny and tragic. Im glad that you pride yourself on having more self control than your brother - good man. It must be real hard with no dad and a not very bright mum.
I take it at the tender age of 16 you have left the religion already?
BTW I love your online name - its so cute! (sorry if it wasnt meant to be cute)

KK - how about we go as demons to our next apostafest and invite Kid A along?
It would be rude not to!
Im wondering how many ministerial servants had demonised right hands at bedtime?!!
