i had a meeting with my heart surgeon yesterday, and after informing him of our faith, my wife still holding onto to parts of the organization, the dr. said that, "there is a new form that just came out last year from your mother church in new york.

" what this document does is (1) make it clear that the person is not allowing blood to be used, (2) makes it clear that the dr. will have a court order ready in case blood is deemed medically necessary to sustain life and (3) absolves the person's conscience of any guilt if it came down to it.

i'm not sure if this document has been discussed before, but i thought that it was a bit intriguing.

The hospitals try to trick us all the time

Yes they are wicked arent they? Its that STUPID evil hippocratic oath they are forced to make that seems to make them think they have a duty to keep people alive.

I get the same reaction from my students at school, who see that I am an evil educator trying to trick them into learning things. Teachers, doctors, nurses, we are all satans tools.

Circuit Overseer Visit

we have our co visit this week.

you should see all the dubs appearing from nowhere, it's like jesus has come to visit.. .

last week we had about 75 in attendance at our tms/service meeting.

Moving to where the need is great

many jws sold their homes and moved across country to serve where the need was great.

in the last couple of years i have remembered several people who moved from western canada to quebec where we were told the need was great out west.

some sacrificed their families, friends to go it alone.

After the meeting one of the elder's wives came up to me and told me I was a liar. I could speak french but just chose not to. I tried to explain in french that reading it off a paper was one thing, speaking in a conversation was quite another. My guilt and shame responses kicked in and I felt bad for doing such a good job of reading the part

WOW what a cow. Only the dubs could make you feel guilty for working hard and doing a good job!

I knew a few people who moved to where the need was great, but mostly it was a veiled bid to escape a boring life and have a god sanctioned adventure.

My SIL and her husband used their annual leave to go to some remote place in Scotland to witness. They had to rent this cottage in the middle of nowhere and they came home a week early because it was so awful - no heating, cold water, cottage was filthy and riddled with bed bugs and stuff. Plus they thought it was demonised because they heard bangs and crashes in the night and there wasnt a living soul for miles. Hahahahahahh ahhahaha Not a complete barrel of laughs!

can you be objective about the watchtower society's literature?

I could be objective about the literature if it was written objectively. But it isnt. It totally completely heavily biased in every sentence.

Also, although you could ague that the Awakes had interesting articles in, they werent supposed to be about interesting general knowledge were they? They were supposed to be pomoting a religious ideaology. If I wanted general knowledge I would buy Readers Digest and The Guinness Book of Records.

If I wanted science I would subscribe to a science journal, likewise cooking, geography, wildlife, ecology etc etc. What is the point of printing a 'jack of all trades master of none' magazine and then getting it distributed by religious volunteers? Disingenuous to say the least.

the level of “opulence” was not necessarily the JWs’ idea.

They shouldnt have opulent buildings. Full stop. They brow beat ordinary people week after week about how strapped they are for cash, how its all for the futherance of the world wide work. We had retired widows living on state pensions in our cong donating their one piece of gold jewellry so it could be melted down for cash for the Borg.

One old lady (auntie Helen) was found to be so poor she was diagnosed by her doctor as malnourished but she was still popping money in the box every week.

Wicked. Malnourished old ladies and chandaliers. BOLLOX.

What is your town or area's claim to fame?

every where you live, the local area has something about it that is either famous for something good or something bad.

as an example, you go to one town and it may have the historial site of a famous war battle.

you go to another an it might be the place something was invented, or the birthplace of someone famous.

The town where I grew up is famous for the Batley Variety Club which used to have all the big cabaret names. Its now a pretty seedy naff nightclub.

Now Batley if famous for having the Fox's Biscuits factory. If you live in Batley your highest aspiration is to get a job packing biscuits and become a Fox's Fairy!

The town I live in now is famous for the mass murderer Fred West, who used to go out with his wife cruising for girls, offer them help, take them home to his house, him and his wife rape them then murder them. Got found out after a local police woman listened to some gossip regarding the dissapearance of one of West's daughters. Found loads of bodies under the patio and in various fields, including his own daughter.

Cromwell Street, where they lived, is about 2 miles from my house.

They shouldnt have histoical buildings that need excessive amounts of authentic remodelling. For an organisation always begging for money why then deliberately buy listed buildings you know are going to cost a fortune to look after?

Its wicked and immoral to take poor peoples hard earned money and then spend it on chandaliers. How is that any different from any con man spending donated money on feathering their own nests?

Do you know, when we were busy donating money every week for the 'World wide work' I never once stopped to think exactly what was costing so much money. If id have thought for 2 minutes that every JW was doing the same as me, preaching for free in their spare time I would have realised the money must have been going on something else.
