The parable of a king who forgives a slaves debt

in the streamed program from bethel uk this weekend, mark sanderson relates the parable from mt 18:23-35 where a master forgives the huge debt of a slave, but when the slave refuses to forgive a small debt owed to himself, the master throws that slave into prison.. look at the details of this parable.. the master is owed 10,000 talents.

this is 10's of millions of dollars, completely unpayable.

this represents our sin which we cannot pay for.. the slave begs for more time, so the master "lets the slave off and cancelled his debt" (vs 27).

Was that point driven home by the Watchtower that the "evil slave" had the right to "choke and torment his fellow slave" that caused his fellow slaves "to cry out and run to the King because they were appalled by the slave's wickedness, inhumanity no mercy after shown infinite mercy?

The King had absolute authority unless he were serving another nation, still all his subjects had to obey and this King had the right to recall his debt if he chose!. I can't believe the Watchtower turned a one of the most beautiful illustrations about grace in to a Pharisaical one of counting one's own rights after being saved from certain slavery with his entire family.

How easy to understand, Jesus using a number so large 10,000 Talents "Gazillion Dollars" versus the Slave who owned 100 days wages! Why would the Watchtower consider the needs of some good-for-nothing, cruel and evil slave that had his fellow slave's wife and children sold in to slavery?

Has the Watchtower gone nuts taking what most religious leaders consider one of the most wonderful stories of compassion and forgiveness to personal selfishness, how disgusting and boy are they missing the points of Jesus illustrations once again!

We can get really technical about the Middle Eastern's king and queens rights to cancel and put debt(taxes) to each person. Apparently the King of this story had authority to punish a wicked slave that did not merit debt-forgiveness.

Went to a Catholic Funeral Today

it was for a dear friend of the family that i have known all my life.now, bear in mind that i was born and raised jw, so my experience with catholic ceremonies can be counted on three fingers, a wedding, a "regular" mass, and this funeral mass.once they got down to the actual speaking about the deceased, i felt emotionally involved, but prior to that, i was watching and had questions about aspects of the services (these i have seen in common for all three times i have been in an rc church):why the "sing-song" voice during the prayers?

does god hear it better if you sound all spooky tenor?i observe that every time a reading from one of the gospels takes place, it is preceded by a big musical number:"alleluiah!

alleluiah"( "and nowwwwwwwwwwwwwww, heeeeeeeeeeeeeere's jesus!".

How was it versus a Kingdom Hall Funeral that mentions the Witness maybe once or twice? Kingdom Hall funerals were very disturbing looking back on them, how come we could not see they used the death of our loved ones and friends to make a sales pitch? Was the Catholic service far superior, how did you feel?

It really upsets me that they set up at all these local community colleges. I am going to be writing to one locally, regarding their activity. Are they aware they have anti-scientific views that require strict adherence to the refusal of even life saving procedures, under the penalty of communal shinning? Are they aware that their own institution in which they are being allowed to leave literature is being denigrated as a snare of Satan? Higher education is a big no no."

We have Lit-Carts and JW-Bots standing around the two community colleges and one at the University and all they do is stand around for six to eight hours everyday. There's one story about a professor that came to the Organization because of our high quality literature that explains any topic the "questioning person has because Christendom can't satisfy honest heart people's desires!" One of my kids gets so mad seeing JW-Carts because as he said "Their frauds who lie about college" and than he loses his stack because they took fourteen years of his life. Poor baby, I remind him of someone like Billy who had to go to school at age 40 and he's getting the same degree as Billy-the-Ex is now

if a muslim decides he won't bake the cake of a radical zionist that says "reclaim the temple in jerusalem" should the government be allowed to punish the muslim baker?

That was weird how my page got distorted,I did not clip and paste but wrote it out here, not even Word. I need to redo it, sorry! The confusing thing is trying to understand why people need to draw attention to themselves like the baker in Oregon and Washington instead of baking the cake and shutting their mouth. There's a young man who called in to Lars Talk Radio and Lar's ask's him "Are you African American (he could tell by his voice)" the man said "Yes, I am, why?" and Lars did the KKK analogy but this guy said "I would take their money and charge extra!" he continued with "I fought in the Gulf War 2 for everyone's freedom, doing business with the Klan won't hurt my pride".

Personally the Klan could take their cake and stick it up their keister, I don't see how baking a cake for gay couples is similar to baking cakes for hate groups. Issues are clouding up, were the homosexual couples asking the Christian bakers to write "Jesus is Gay!", no, they wanted a cake from a bakery they enjoyed and now the stupid baker is broke. In Roman times the Christians would not have declined service to homosexuals, the Christian teaching of love are clouded out by a pseudo righteousness akin to the Pharisees, not the Christian teachings..

The Pizza place in Indiana has raised almost $1,000,000 depending on which new-sources your using, being loud and vocally bias does pay to the tune of $1,000,000!

I heard the argument of some KKK member going to a bakery run by a Black man, the Black is shocked once he hear's the Klan member want's him to write some evil celebration phrase and declines serving this Klan member. The Klan sues the baker and gets $150k in damages, would you back the Court up on that decisions? Daily we are bombarded with news with a sole purpose, to incite us to turn against ourselves and be very divisive! I feel the Media and those who control it want us to destroy ourselves while the true agendas their pushing will be our downfall! There's some Agenda out there, not a conspiracy buff, yet it's obvious something or someone is trying to get us to the point of self-destruction.

Any ideas how to respond when these arguments appear because I really am confused trying to understand all the hate being spread. I don't think the bakery in Oregon should have been sued for $150k blowing them up because they could not keep their mouths shut and should have baked the cake, it's not the Baker's business and nobody would have thought the Baker was homosexual or leaning to the Left's side. In another State I heard another lawsuit is going on suing another Baker because they would not attend the wedding and set up the cake with all that wedding fancy stuff the rich do

Should the Baker be sued if they offered to make the cake but refused to take the cake to the wedding because they felt it would give off a wrong impression? Things are crazy, in just a few seconds I heard Mr. Ditto head talking about all the freedoms being lost out of fear we might offend a group people perceive is not getting treated well. He mentioned the baker of Islamic background that refused to make cakes for homosexuals under cover, what do you think?

I am not a Rush or Ditto head, Rush's head is so far buried inside the Koch brother's butt, they burp Oxycontin! No fan of Rush here, what's your advice?

Jehovah's Witnesses Are "The Religion Of Hatred!" Why Would We Want To Return To Your Organization?

i saw some of the quotes coming out of the new assembly brochure "return to jehovah", why would anyone abused by the congregation decide to return for more hate by the congregation?

jehovah's witness are the first one's who tell you "we are god's organization because we are the only religion that has the love jesus christ spoke about!

", that's a big whooper!

Their totally lost because this Religion is one like the "Out of Code Date" on rapidly declining dairy products! Their expiration date started in 1914 and like the college kid who drinks his milk two weeks after it's extra-extra expired date, 1975 left the drinkers of the Watchtower's Milk filled with lumpy foul tasting chunks, yummy!

The Watchtower can try their best to use this Milk like Koreans do with Kim Chi or some yummy Mongolian Curdled Yak Milk that taste nasty, that's the product of the 21st Century. Do you have any ideas for the Watchtower because their religion expired, it's long Past Due!

Steve it's sad the younger kids know very little about the Watchtower and I've tested that through attempted deep discussions only to further validate my observation. I appreciate your fair-and-balanced view on many subjects, especially the "Apostasy Video" presented here recently. That video was actually mild, I think the kid was doing his best to stretch out as much time with those elders just to get filler-data across. We are critical of how the Watchtower handled the Bible Students in Greece by recording who the Branch labeled as "Apostates", "Independents" and "On their own" in Ray Franz's book "In Search of Christian Freedom".

We are aware of how the Elders handle previous Judicial Meetings and now maybe this will force the Elders to tread more lightly! If their acting badly, like some old vicious men use to the fear of getting recorded my force them to act human! The kids standing by the Lit-Carts are a very sad group of people, a few I know are already married at 18 years old living with their parents while working two 20 hour jobs each. The Watchtower is quite happy with incompetent Lit-Cart pushers because their not going to ask questions and shy away from any profound topics because their not capable of engaging in them!

It's funny how the Watchtower uses the "Jews in the wilderness wandering around for 40 years" as a paralleled to today's JWs waiting for Jehovah to bring them past the Great Tribulation! If you read the Bible your going to notice God was ready to take the Jews in less than a Year! Did JWs do something wrong to keep them from entering the Promised Land God was going to lead them to? We all were pretty tweaked in the head to not catch things Blondie points out in her Weekly Study of the Watchtower Magazines!

I heard how we were like the Jews so many times and never fully grasped how distorted their parallel was. They don't know or have any idea how far the Great Tribulation is, their consistent failure to interpret Bible prophecy and teachings along with twisted doctrine prove their unreliable as trying to spend a $3 dollar bill!
