Ties at the Kingdom Hall
by CloseTheDoor incouple of weeks ago an elder took a young man aside and crawled all over him after the tms for wearing a "skinny" tie.
it was one of those 2 inch wide ties.
nothing bright or scandalous about.

They complained to a young brother about his bow-ties, than bothered, no they harassed a Southerner background Witness about his fashion style(until he changed his clothing to a white shirt with plain tie), strange how these Elders said not one word to the "district overseer" who loved to wear strange looking wore bow-ties! What hypocrites and bullies men getting power over a group of social misfits become, their god is really picking on bow-tie wearing young men. -

Books For Believers in Intelligent Designer and want to get deeper in to the Debate without getting angry!
by PokerPlayerPhil inhi, there's been so many threads going off on atheism, evolution and science but most end quickly because many can't hold their own without getting abusive, angry and lots of hard feelings against our friends here who helped us get beyond all the confusion and fear plus uncertainty we all felt trying to leave the cult!
when you can bring up interesting topics and share ideas through intelligent discussion it's possible we could lose all the anger that ensues on our adult boards!
here's a book i heard dr. richard dawkins bring up saying he liked the logic and reasoning of peter medawar's book, why not evaluate it yourself?

I think you will find his skeptical approach very balanced, one issue that's popping it's head up of late is people making claims there are not "absolutes" while the following statement just contradicted itself (The claim "there are not absolutes" is a absolute :).
Watching the video where the bullies attacked the poor JW trolley or cart pusher bugged me because he turned someone's hypothosis in to a theory without any backing. Find the video where the man said "Dr. Lawerence Krausse has proved the Universe came from nothing", when pushed on what "nothing is", Krausse getting blasted by several scientist of his caliber said he was being dishonest with the term "nothing". How was the JW kid suppose to know and if this kid decides, "I am going to look up what the apostate said" discovers the apostate does not know what he's talking about because he blindly used Dr. Krausses(Quantum Vacuum Model) hypothosis to impress a JW Kid, how does that help our efforts to get kids outside the Cult while their still kids, read the following if you don't mind from the website "Why Evolution Is True":
I also read other scientist from other Us blasting him because he used "something" as "nothing", if that JW Kid read this, what's he going to think of the proud attack of his faith making outlandish claims in his quest for truth?
" I have a confession. I was not keen on Lawrence Krauss’s new book on the origin of the universe, A Universe from Nothing: Why there is Something Rather Than Nothing. I couldn’t share the chorus of approbation and acclaim for the book, and wondered if I, as opposed to everyone else, was blind to its merits. (Let me hasten to add that I am a big fan of Krauss’s public lectures, and also that I haven’t read any of his other books.)
I found A Universe from Nothing awkwardly written and poorly explained; indeed, in places I felt completely at sea, and had to reread bits of it several times to figure out what he was trying to say. Even then some of it baffled me, and since I have a Ph.D. and have read a fair amount of popular physics literature, I figured this must have been a case of unclear writing rather than simple ignorance on my part..."
"Further, I felt to some degree cheated: much of the book was not about the origin of the universe, but dealt with other matters, like dark energy and the like, that had already been covered in other popular works on physics. Indeed, much of Krauss’s book felt like a bait-and-switch. It also seemed to me that Krauss came to grips with the real problem—how do you get matter from an initial condition of nothing?—only in the last 40 pages of the book. The whole argument could have been written more concisely, and clearly, in a smallish book the size of Sam Harris’s Free Will.

Hi, there's been so many threads going off on atheism, evolution and science but most end quickly because many can't hold their own without getting abusive, angry and lots of hard feelings against our friends here who helped us get beyond all the confusion and fear plus uncertainty we all felt trying to leave the Cult!
Its written by a highly skeptical scientist who presents Science in a very fair place the Christians and believers can respect because you will become stronger in bringing your views forward without getting mad!
You want to share the Gospel or Spiritualism, build up your brain with everything on each side physical time constraints allow you! It's not by accident Mr. Cofty knows the current arguments and debates, he's done a heck of a lot of reading as much literature on the Evolution and Atheism as he can. Why not be like him and build your educational arsenal to new higher bounds? Have you ever read posts by him, by Simon, by Steve and DJ (He coined the term for the GB, "Dark lords of Watchtower", he writes very well.). Here's a very short book on where Science ends and Speculation begins as well as showing the reader why many areas in Science can't be ignored because you don't want to believe, in the debate I watched over a year ago they both said this book was fair and reasonable, those are the books we need to read, I thought it was really good!
"Science," writes Sir Peter Medawar, "is incomparably the most successful enterprise human beings have ever engaged upon." In this brief, brilliant book the Nobel laureate explores the nature and limitations of scientific pursuit. The three essays included touch on some of the largest questions known to man: Can science determine the existence of God? Is there one "scientific method" by which all the secrets of the universe can be discovered? "

The Money-Grab BOEs!

CAH closing down in upstate NY
by oppostate inyet another circuit assembly hall is going to be sold off!.
they've been reducing the amount of congregations assigned to meet there and using the times when it isn't in use to make repairs.
elders have now been informed that they are selling off the property and buildings and that circuits would be assigned to attend other sites, twice as far, three or four hours away, like montreal.

Their selling all their Real Estate assets and making Congregations clustered with so many people by consolidation their like 1980s "slash and burn" cost cutting but their growing leaps and bounds according to all the JWs and the Magazines for private use.

Stephen Lett admits income/expenditure shortfall as he reminds Witnesses to donate “valuable things”
by defender of truth init's well worth taking a look at the article, it will only take you a few minutes.
but i would particularly like to highlight this part: .
if you are going to divulge a shortfall in funds, particularly with the aim of leveraging more donations (or valuable things) from a pool of supporters who are already lagging in this regard, the least you can do is treat them like adults and give some hard numbers.

"Money is currently the issue!". You realize that's been what's predicted by many of you over the years, I am making a bold prediction that the Governing Body will take acting lessons and learn how to turn on a spigot of tears to make these old sisters on SDI or Medicaid and Welfare give their money so these idiots don't have to work! Their a horrible group of men, they have $$$$$ Billions of dollars no doubt in Hedge Funds making money while their begging for cash that's not transparent! -

Debating this was going to be the last day in Field Service was not hard after dealing with a nasty mess because I was grouped with the misfits of the Kingdom Hall! I was reading this website on my phone while something started to stink in my car and one of the weird kids nobody wanted to work with yelled "Hey, you leaking all over my seat, he was freaked out too!" The older, retired elder, his Pioneer daughter had forgotten to put his Depends on and that became my problem. The sisters in my car were too busy talking or ignored the grumbling stomach, after abdominal warnings like Mt St Helens this old man shat his pants and pissed all over my new mini-van! We went back to the Kingdom Hall to get him cleaned up, there were two elders who set my arrangements up and I dumped him off on them. They never left the Kingdom Hall, it was a hour and a half and these two big mouth Elders were standing around, counting time because "people could see them as they drove past them", I said "I need to get this car cleaned out before it stains my car!" The elders as stupid as usual, said "hey, we can spray some Windex on your seats and I have some RVs we can do, it's only water!" That's the mentality of our JW Elders, their so good at destroying your property, using up your gasoline and putting people who don't belong in Field Service in your Car Groups they themselves would never take!
What experiences did you have in Field Service, did you ever have anyone shat their pants or spill things in your car? Did you have little devils destroying your cars, did they poke holes in your leather seats or plaster their chewing gum all over your carpet? How did they dispose of their unwanted lunch snacks "healthy Mom" brought besides puking all over your car? Did these little goblins tuck their fruits or Lunchables in spots were they rotted?
What good old times in Field Service did you have, was it Spiritual Paradise or Physical Hell? The Watchtowers Leaders have no reality and I hope they go Bankrupt, so tired of losers destroying the property of people who care? I must have had the sign on my back saying "Please put all the mentally ill people in my car-group and if they can't control their lower bodily functions add them too! I love misery, the more freaky, the better!".
How did we deal with this so long, OMG!

Jesus did not head around begging for money, people willing brought him money as well as the Apostles who said "We work with our hands", someone must have left that memo out of the Governing Body's data because they keep begging!
http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2009/decemberweb-only/151-21.0.htmlFund Raising: Did Oral Roberts Go Too Far?
The television evangelist links receiving $8 million to the extension of his earthly life.Randy Frame/ DECEMBER 15, 2009This article was originally published in the February 20, 1987, issue of Christianity Today.
Thoughts about heaven are not new to Oral Roberts. In 1975, the Tulsa evangelist told a chapel audience at Oral Roberts University (ORU) that he had asked God to take him, but God did not answer.
This time, according to Roberts, God is taking the initiative. Roberts has stated in a fund-raising appeal letter and on television that unless he raises a total of $8 million above regular ministry expenses by next month, he will die.
“I desperately need you to come into agreement with me concerning my life being extended beyond March,” states a fund-raising letter signed by Roberts.
“…God said, ‘I want you to use the ORU medical school to put My medical presence in the earth. I want you to get this going in one year or I will call you home!’” Roberts says he received this message last March.
The evangelist likens his situation to the apostle Paul who, in the New Testament Book of Philippians, spoke of his desire to “depart and be with Christ,” but also of his responsibility to “abide with you in the flesh.” According to Roberts’s letter, “when it looked like Paul would go on to heaven, his partners flooded him with the necessary money, each one giving to God’s servant out of their own need.”
A follow-up letter signed by Roberts’s son, Richard, affirms that without the money needed to send out missionary healing teams, “God will not extend Dad’s life.” Oral and Richard Roberts made similar statements on their weekly television program. A public outcry led several television stations to drop programs containing the controversial appeal.

Pretty much the entire broadcast is asking for money (giving of your valuable things) and giving volunteer time. It's funny...when we needed assistance (not money, just simple love and encouragement would have been nice) during a difficult time, all we got was "trust in Jehovah." Seems like the tables have turned. Why don't they "trust in Jehovah?" After all they are his earthly representatives. Shouldn't he help them out? Things that make you go...Hmmm!
I love the hooky song at the end, reminds me of the Mormons.
All take and no give in this cult. How are they different that Christendom? Always begging for your money.
Hey everyone (even you lurkers).....Vote with your wallets!!!"
When God told Moses to ask for a collection from his people, they had to stop collecting because God's people were generous. I agree with you, when it comes to emotional support, kindness, love and getting help from the friends this way, people who endure the "Religion of Hatred" are told "Wait upon Jehovah!" That's one verse out of the Bible that attacks people in charge who have the authority to make justice happen but are afraid of losing some donation giver over all the trouble they create. Let's see how Jehovah handles their monetary needs, they are begging for money just like the PTL Club and Christian Radios did certain times of the Fiscal Year. When this becomes a 'Loving Organization" that cares about it's followers, than donations might show up regularly! -

They pulled this crap back in the 1980s when they pushed off the Circuit Overseers expenses untop of the already hurting cash-strapped congregations. That started for their Buicks, than health insurance plus local bills. We were getting billed around $800 per year for the Circuit Overseers expenses plus the annual CO "car and insurance payments", it's about time the Watchtower Goons pay for their own expenses.
They can stop flying Governing Body Members all over the World for what ever dedications they have now a days. Let's do a productivity check and see how much economic value the Governing Body members each bring to the table. They need to stop wasting money like they did on the stupid printing press mishaps, stop spending money on stupid purchases.
JWs are not the richest religion per people, it's the GBs fault the majority of JWs don't have a retirement plan and before Obama-care many were on Medicaid. The GB should thank Obama for helping solve the health-care issue of the Watchtower's great force of cart-pushers!
Nice some people's family still in are telling the GB like it is, nice post "All for show!"
