I think its great that some of you have met up. I know my son and I would like to meet up with anyone in UK, though probably difficult to arrange. I think thats one of the reasons we came on here, hoping to hear from folk we knew, or folk who knew folk we knew!!!! Actually it would be great to meet up with my son!! who lives down the other end of the country now! We haven't seen each other since coming onto this site.. he introduced me to it, and we long to have a good old natter about it. Seeing him in a few weeks time at his brothers wedding, so looking forward to that. This site has helped him so much, thanks to all of you!!!

Who are you now?
by tsunami_rid3r inall of us have been tit-sucking jehovahs witnesses at one point in our lives, and we have been deceptively forced to give up our very own individuality to become one group united under, supposedly, god's only earthly organization.
just maybe, maybe throughout your much hated dull life, as a brainless witness, you weren't allowed to experience the necessities of life, such as satan's blaring rock and roll that you oh so always wanted to listen to, dressing up in those flaming hot name brand clothes lines, being part of a sports team, knowing what true bonding friendship and competition really meant, or chosing those friends you know would never turn you in for having that nightly drink at the club.
now that we know the real truth, and the damage has been done, what have you done to repair it?

Wow! there's some cynical people on here! You keep on believing in Love!!! All forms of it... One thing I do believe and always will...Love conquers all!! (eventually)
As for who I am now???? Still becoming... but as for the rock music thing! Well its taken me a long time but at 50 I am an 'old rock chick'!!!!

long years of brainwashing finally come to an end.....
by girl_interrupted inhi everyone, i'm new here......basically, i found this website a couple of weeks ago when i was in dire need of some like-minded souls who had felt screwed up about the jw's.
from about the age of four/five, my parents and i were involved in the organisation, and all three of us are stil messed up because of it.....we are no longer involved in it, but it took quite a few years before my parents found the strength to leave.
to begin with, i was quite a zealous jw, was baptised at twelve and disfellowshipped at fourteen, because as i got older i began to grow ''weak in the truth'' as people so kindly described me!

Its a case of not always being able to back their actions up with scriptures! I was JW for 22 years, I brought up 4 children to believe 'the truf'!!! The eldest ones, like me, walked away from it. However this wasn't before they had relationships and got real messed up over them! When you are a JW you are not allowed to have unchaperoned contact with anyone of the opposite sex, so many marry young to get free of this... BIG MISTAKE!!! This guy, in time, may realise how oppressive the life is, but it could take quite a while, and you don't want to be hurt along the way!

Have to confess don't know how to annoy my man!!! He is so un annoyable, but a really annoying little sh**e! Before we met he used to tell me how wonderful, gorgeous, sexy, better than slice breed! (he's a scot by the way) he is! but didn't once tell me how annoying he can be. He loves to torment me, we can be sitting watching the tv and he starts poking my ear, nose... etc, or tickling me! or he will deliberately mis hear what I say and twist it round. I try so hard to do the same to him but never seem to win!! Any tips would be very greatly received!!!

Oh decisions, decisions, would it be the time my bro had to drag her drunk out of a ditch... or the time she rang me, yet again, drunk, to say she had taken yet another overdose!! No definitely the time she visited me after I had my baby daughter, yep! drunk again, she knocked her cord and made her bleed!! Oh the memories... would rather forget!!!

Yes I was proud to be a Jehovah's Witness. I felt I had a direction in life, I felt there was a hope for this world that I could share. Maybe it was disillusionment... but what has replaced it???
