  if you like cold play/oasis style music listen to my son's stuff on myspace.com/markwilks its not everyone's taste but i am very proud of him.

  he writes his own lyrics and i can see how his upbringing as a jw has influenced some of his songs.

  i know many people did business with me because i was an elder and had to be honest.

  i never cheated anybody anyway because it's simply not right but i know a lot of witnesses that were "screwed" by other witnesses......what about you??

  Ex-JW's Pioneers Help! What can I tell my 75 year old mom who "fs" in rain?

  i have tried talking to my "devout" jw mom until i am blue in the face and she just won't budge.

  but now i am really worried to death for her.

  the other day she told me that she was going on return visits with another pioneer sister who is in her early 40's and much, much younger than my mom.

  it took me about a year before joining and posting.. i can sum up my reason in one word,.

  Question re Jehovah's view on marriage

  have there always been marriage ceremonies to legalise marriage?

  don't remember any really early accounts of this.

  well it started with one and sort of developed from there.. firstly, mary was a virgin when she miraculously conceived jesus, so does that mean then that he was illegetimate, and if so then why did jehovah not simply allow her to marry joseph, send an angel to joseph to advise him to abstain from sexual intercourse until after the birth of jesus?

  after all joseph was the only one who could testify at that time that mary was a virgin, he could have easily have done that even if they had been married.

  the fact that she was a virgin would not have been obvious until the birth when it could be proved that her hymen was intact.

  How many people do you 'witness' to?

  i find these days that i'm talking to so many people about being a jw and why i am not one now, and in a sense 'giving a witness' as they would term it - only from my point of view its to say why they should avoid it.

  i always say to people to ask any witnesses who call on them to ask how the animals managed to cross over the continents after the flood?

  like how did the kangaroo's get back to aus?.

  we always seem to get focused on the bad - and there is plenty of it for sure - and anyone who follows my posts knows i am no wt apologist by any stretch.

  but focusing on the postive is a good thing in the 'moving on' process i think too.

  what do you think jw's had right?.

  Do you think it`s hard to have a relationship after you leave?

  i have been out for 4 years now, and find it hard to meet someone who i find is compatible.

  one of the reasons being is that they haven`t experienced what it is like to come out of a cult, and i find there is a void there.

  does anyone else feel like this?
