She didn't really have an answer for any of what I brought up. Just silence.
She was baptized in 65 or 66 I think, so, yes, she did go through all that.
i'm going to have to surgery soon.
a hysterectomy.
anyway, i asked my mom to drive me to the doctor because i started working 3rds this week and i didn't really want to drive in the big city traffic.lol.knoxville equals big city to me.

But I got through it. I'm going to have to surgery soon. A hysterectomy. Anyway, the appointment was just basically a pre-op going over what would be done and signing releases. My doctor was going down the list of releases, and she asked the standard if there is extreme blood loss if I would want a transfusion or not. My mom was in there with me. Awkward silence errupted. My doctor asked if I was a Jehovah's Witness. I said "Well, I was raised one."
I said I would take a transfusion. My mother was silent. I told her we would discuss it later. Later came. I said matter of factly that if it came down to me living or dying I would take the transfusion. I said that I don't believe that a transfusion is the same as eating blood that the Bible was talking about. I also brought up the flip flops about organ transplants. I have a very young son and that it would be stupid way to die and leave him an orphan, if I refused a transfusion. And then I said that is all I want to discuss about it. And that was it.
this year we have a themed christmas party.. gangster/mafia...... what to wear.. was going to wear a flapper dress but hey who has a body to wear one of those...lol...... so its going to be a gangster moll outfit.
hubby he is wearing a black suit with a black shirt and white tie.. will post pics of the night (16/12).. i have rumours that they give out 'trophies' for things that have happened throughout the year or if you have a 'quality' ( i know one girl who is very chatty and i think they are going to give her a set of those chatty teeth that you wind up).
so what are you doing for your works christmas party???????.
Where I work, it's usually not called a Christmas Party. End of year celebration. Those crazy Japanese. This year we won't be having one. They built us a pretty nice fitness facility. So, it's ok. LOL. Last Saturday, they had the children's holiday party, which was pretty nice. Pictures with Santa, and lots of other stuff. My son didn't like Santa much. He cried.
My department is having a dinner on the last day we are scheduled to work. We'll all bring snacks or something. And we're playing "Dirty Santa." Kinda like Chinese Christmas. Everyone brings a gift, that wants to participate. We draw numbers. Number 1 starts out by picking a present. Number 2 has the option of taking Number 1's present or choosing a different one. If Number 1's present is taken they choose from the pile again. It's a lot of fun. We did it last year.
i do, i think my husband does.
everyone we know now has family to be with at tg or xmas.
we really love going all out for the holidays, but in the end it's a little disappointing and sad.
I do. Usually I'll spend time at my sister's. But I don't really feel like a part of their family.
My mother told me about the news story. I was surprised that she did. I agree that they are digging themselves in a deep hole. Wonder if NBC saw the covers from their magazines from years ago blasting the Catholic church for their pedophilia scandals?
In the 70s here. I blame Al Gore.
why does the watch tower society not build and operate its own hospitals for its people who refuse to have blood in their treatment programme?.
surely, if bloodless surgery and treatment is so superior and they could prove it with their own statistics and survival rates they could show that blood should not be used.. so, what are they afraid of?.
It could be run privately. They could have ONLY JW doctors and JW patients who would have to PAY, of course!
It would probably end up being like how they have the world wide building fund, the contributions for building "your local Kingdom Hall," and the society's loan for building the kingdom hall, that they own anyway. So, a bill times 3?
You might have just invented a "new" racket for them.
how will that personally affect you?
For Christmas, I'll be buying local. Instead of driving 70 miles to the "big city." I'm expecting our bonus to not be that great this year either.
how will that personally affect you?
Ugh. Badly. Single parent here. I only have a 26 mile round trip from home to work, but when I change schedules later this month it will be 5 days a week, at least.Grrr. Which means my small raise will be about worthless.
I'm not a gentleman, but I will say that, no they don't. I'm blonde and permanently single so it seems.LOL. Some men do seem to think that because you are blonde, you are dumb, and easy... Damn that Crissy...
