YOUR DAILY JOURNAL
by compound complex indear friends,.
much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

After fading, can you get away with DF'able sins?
by inkling ini ask this because a person i know who had a rather short fade.
is now living a... lets just say a distinctly worldly life, and.
the elders are simply looking the other way.

I agree with everyone that says it depends. It depends on you, your family, the elders in the congregation and if someone is bringing your name up on a regular basis.
I tried to fade at 17 and used working as an excuse, but my family (one in particular) pushed the issue to the point where I was forced in a meeting with them, and was at the point where I just wasn't up to lying and living a facade anymore.

Adam and Eve were NEVER perfect.
by gaiagirl injw's frequently say that the first human couple were "perfect" and would have lived forever until they gave up perfection by their disobedience.. however, closer reading of the genesis account shows that they were never perfect, instead, they were designed to grow old and die, just like the rest of the animals.
jehovah has adam name all the animals, but finds that none of the animals is suitable as a companion (wonder how this was determined)?.
jehovah clones a companion for adam, and tells them to not eat the fruit of a certain tree, or they will die "in that very day".

I am surprised that anyone actually believes that the very first humans were people named Adam and Eve, especially adults.

Do you hum?
by Layla33 ini do and sometimes i do it when i am happy, when i have had a good meal, when a friend is on the phone and they went to do something - it's my musical interlude.
i think some people hum without noticing it.
i also used to hum to my brother, it was our way of communiting when we were young and a game we played where we would hum a tune and then each of us would try to give a verse.

Actually, I notice that I frequently hum Kingdom Melodies (its only been a few weeks out) and I can't get them out of my head.
It is not uncommon, I consider it a form of mind control. I really believe you have to do something deliberate to get those tunes out of your mind.
Also, I have a friend who not only hums when she eats sweets, but jiggles her left foot. We tease her about it. I tend to humm and tap my feet. (An offshot of having years of dancing school).

Knocking on the Doors of Classmates out in service
by new light incould anything have been more embarrassing?
you could be at the door of the least popular munger in school, but overwhelmed with envy because, hey, at least he was doing something normal.
in 8th grade, at the peak of childhood self-consciousness, i knocked on the door of a super popular, rich, "in" kid from my class and he answered the door.

...did a reverse Dukes of Hazard jump into the car (head first). It must've looked awesome!
This really made me smile. My brother and I were huge Dukes of Hazard fans. I can just picture you doing that, LOL!

Sleeping your life away?
by sweetface2233 in"life is too short", "carpe diem", "eat, drink, and be merry...", "never put off till tomorrow..." we have all heard these phrases, taken them to heart, and burned ourselves out on the stress from them.
i say...screw that shite!
the only thing keeping me from jumping out the window of my 6th story apt or driving my car into the back of one of the metro buses on the beltway is knowing that, if one of those actions do take place, i won't be able to nap that afternoon.
-

There is NOTHING like a good sleep, and I think naps are extremely important. Americans do not get enough sleep and it is tied to a myriad of health problems.
One of my favorite times of the day is laying into bed and having a restful slumber. I love to dream. It's a beautiful thing.

Actually most of these "underground resources" pick up stories from local newspaper journalists. Internet journalism is a bit of myth.
I agree, I don't focus on the internet journalism too much, when I say underground, I mean underground, first hand accounts, etc.

Plus, the only reason I was out in service was because of the delicious regular pioneer that I was in love with!!!
I can attest to that one. There was a pioneer brother that was drop dead gorgeous and he toyed with many a woman in my day. He used to asked to work with me and it was all I could do to keep my mind on the sermon. And then he went to Bethel... I always sneakingly suspected he was an undercover lover to many...

I have a friend that was in the military for years and years -- I asked him and here is what he said:
He alone must report the incident. You as mom can't get involved especially if your son doesn't want to go to the authorities about it.
He said that it may be beneficial to go to his commanding officer about it and it may not be. It depends on if he knows exactly the 10 who did it or not. And it depends on if he thinks making a report will make it harder or easier on him. He said that he needs to remember that he may be in war with these guys one day and he needs to do what he can to have good relations with them if he can. Your son needs to do what he can to make things easy for him in the future.
I know it must be hard to see your son like this. I hope you all come up with the perfect solution.
Renee
I agree, I was going to ask my best male friend that is an officer in the Air Force, but this is good advice. I have a few friends in the military, if anything else goes down, I will be happy to offer assistance.
