Amen.

we finally got enough money together, which included our government incentive check, to pay the lawyer to do it and last night saw two withdrawals from our checking account!

i wasn't sure i was ready for it, but i did it anyway...i put out a personal ad.
i've gotten a few responses, but nothing seems promising yet.
i get the feeling that internet dating is more about quantity than quality, but i think that's what i need right now.
Why don't all the single posters open to meeting someone, just write a response here or start a thread. Give their age and region. And then if someone else from this board is interested they can send a PM. Not encouraging stalking or anything, but why can't this forum have its own singles group (sort of)?

B_Deserter,
Don't look at internet dating as desperate, look at it as the way of the future. How are people going to meet each other these days? We work in cubicles, use the self check out at the grocery store, the library, and the gas station, many do not go to church, and in general people are waiting long past high school to get serious. I know at least three couples who got together this way, and have done well. I have also heard a few horror stories, but you hear those from people who met in traditional ways all the time.
Have fun.
Me too. I have heard good and bad. One of my girlfriends is dating a guy she met on e-harmony. And that was after almost giving up on dating. Another one of my girlfriends is dating a guy she met on yahoo personals. One of my best male friends is married to a woman he met on myspace AND they have a child together. I know two other people, namely coworkers and friends of friends that are married and met from the internet.
Now of course there is the other side, but just use good judgment, don't put your eggs in one basket and just have fun with it.
i am serving in an appointed position.
if you read my previous posts you will see.
an old girlfriend is accusing me of "grinding" which is porneia according to the society, and a disfellowshipping offense.
You poor thing, I am reminded of the song by R. Kelly - Ain't Nothing wrong with a little bump and grind

Anyway, get a lawyer or refuse to answer any questions and deny deny everything.
Or you can ask them to clarify everything 100 times until they just give up. Tell them you don't understand the question and you need clarification. That will annoy the hell out of them.
Don't stress.

SixofNine,
You bring up an excellent point. When I got divorced, I paid off all my credit cards. I have one, Amex Platinum, that I pay off every month, if there is even a charge on there. I don't use it. I use it to reserve rooms, and rent cars when I go on vacation. I have forced myself to live with the cash I have, that's it.
I have started taking money out of my accounts and keeping it in an envelope. I just don't trust the banks anymore. BOA is just one of many huge banks that will go in your accounts and deduct. There's an entire forum dedicated to former and present BOA customers that have been ripped off.
To the originator of this thread: Call customer service everyday until you get it resolved. Write letters, document everything.

DO NOT KEEP MONEY IN THE SAME BANK WHERE YOU HAVE YOUR CREDIT CARDS!!
Exactly. And B of A is notorious for taking out fees and overcharging customers.
i just copied this little nugget of information from real restaurant recipes.. southerners are the first to declare their fried chicken recipe as being the best, but southerners weren't the first to fry their chickens.
the scottish people who settled the early south apparently introduced fried chicken in the united states.
they liked their chicken fried rather than boiled or baked as was normal for the english in the northern states.
I have three words:
Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles.
my wife and i split from the witnesses about 2 years now....and now she says we need a divorce asap!
she doesn't want to work thru it.
lately and for awhile she has been amazingly aggressive to me.....and pretty much everyone else she knows.
Stay strong, don't let it break down. But I totally understand where you are coming from, I got a little choked up just reading your post. Divorce is so very hard and painful. It's like losing a part of your body, but you know what, you do survive, you will be okay. Now, I know reading this from a stranger on a message board may not matter, but I have been there, I didn't think I had the strength to walk away, but I knew if I stayed I would be miserable. And no one deserves to be miserable. And everyday I got up, I had a great bunch of friends, I cried, I laughed and everyday I got a little bit stronger, my life became something on my terms.
Stay strong, get a good support system, and don't be afraid to have a therapist help your through it. Peace be with you...
a bit of a distance from us but we felt it.

i normally don't do this, since i am not a huge fan of the tv.
most of the shows i watch are biographies and forensic science; however, this show is amazing.
if you get the chance, check it out.
I normally don't do this, since I am not a huge fan of the TV. Most of the shows I watch are biographies and forensic science; however, this show is amazing. If you get the chance, check it out. It comes on AMC on Sunday nights at 10 pm and if you go to amctv.com, you can watch the show on your computer for free.
Why I like this show - It is set in the 1960's in an advertising company, and if anyone knows anything about the ad agencies in Manhattan during that time, the big shot men were called "Mad Men". What I find absolutely refreshing is that it shows life before political correctness, before all the changes in corporate "america". Kids play with vacuum cleaners, everyone smokes even the pregnant women, people fight cuss in the work room and no one blinks an eye. The backdrop is the role of women and minorities in that time. Not in anyway saying this was a better time, but watching it is like going back in time and accessing how we live now - better or worse, what have we "got" and what have we completely "lost". It also shows the psychology and creative genuis of advertisers.
Knowing a few people from that era, they say it is about as true to form, as what they experienced - and they love the show, as well..
Anyway, just wanted to share a rare gem on the TV.
