  i realize many here have (unfortunately) much more experience with this sort of thing than i do.

  any personal insight, or direction to research material, would be appreciated.. there was a letter to all boes about 8-10 years ago, saying that if an appointed elder had any incidents of child abuse in his history, he had to step forward & admit such, so that his status as an elder could be reviewed.

  none of the elders in this congregation said anything.. it was later (maybe 5 years ago) discovered that one of the elders had sexually abused his daughters some time in the 80's, before his appointment.

  I didn't take it as a joke. Women who wear provocative clothing and have an adult body want men to look at them. My personal opinion is that 14 and 15 year old girls who go out in public exposig their midrifts down to the point where imagination takes over should be ashamed as should be their parents. This of couse does not give anyone a reason/excuse to attempt to seduce them but it must be realized that any healthy male (regardless of age) is going to notice them.

  So what is your point?????

  beards!

  in my congregation it is frowned apon.

  a male can have one but he wouldnt get any privilidges and would probably be labeled the black sheep.

  As an active witness I have never thought I would never die and live right on into the New System. I have always Keep it in the front of my mind though. I know it will come and when it does I want to be ready.

  The only to get ready for my friend is a whole lot of disappointment.

  thanks to my last topic, i was lucky enough to receive a copy of the book from another poster.. i just finished it, and it is definitely a life changer.

  i was convinced that the dubs were not the truth.

  but to read all those accounts was an eye opener.
