  I am a little confused as to who Unthank is and what his position is in all of this.

  I am clear as to the fact that he seems to be the one exposing this and I hope he has a reward in heaven for doing this.

  This doesn't surprise me, any of it, other than the fact that it is happening in 2011. I thought the org had guidelines to that this kind of pastoral abuse would no longer be afactor, even though we can have no guarantees of the action of individual JW'S.

  I am naive, obviously.

  according to initial reports,... the body of elders were strictly ordered by the watchtower bible and tract society of australia to cover-up the multiple rapes of a number of children within the traralgon congregation allegedly committed by a fellow member of the jehovah's witness religion.

  It boggles the mind how foolishly stubborn and needlessly harmful that the WT society is being in this matter and those related to it. God, if they would just be honest, they would get the filth OUT, do the least damage to the congregants, particularly children, keep the congregation "clean" and comply with secular laws-which frankly are NOT in conflict with anything in the Bible.

  WHAT IS THEIR PURPOSE??? To make some new court case for separation of church and state or ???? Don't children matter more? Doesn't their integrity matter for ANYTHING? I remember some stupid WT song about integrity. Stupid song as all of them, but I did learn the meaning of the word-did ANYONE else???

  this is a very good find from another jw only web site i have access to... hey i just found this on a link of my mom's that she is "friends" with, yes, still a jw...anyway, i had to copy/paste it so you could all see, thought it was a bit hilarious to see how they blatantly speak of keeping info from "outsiders.

  " i did not copy the name of the person since that is not my point and i am not that disrespectful, but i did copy their comment...they were discussing the wt about killing all apostates and someone that was studying asked a question as to whether they all thought that was right or not, so here it is..............."james... although its a great article and very encouraging, as apostates do deserve to be murdered, it may not be such a good idea to reveal it our friend zeek at this moment.

  he may find it a tad over the top.

  I don't think it is an apostate-we (apostates/former JWs) KNOW the words, the terminology. I don't know who posted it-it might have simply been a total infiltrator who is using the current 'debate' to stick it to the WT, or it might be an actual 'newer' zealot JW who isn't fully versed and "indoctrinated" as to the 'beautiful words' that "are pleasing to Jehovah" that a long time JW would know. I also think it behooves us all to remember that a lot of the org has changed since many of us left it. There is a trend to 'christianize' the verbiage-I have seen more JWs refer to the KH/org as church, I have seen the word Christian go from practically FORBIDDEN to being part of the title of the 'church'. There is a trend throughout the org to mainstream it in some ways (while simultaneously pulling the JWs further out of reality-ville than ever!)

  check out this quote from the nov 1, 2011 watchtower (public edition).

  the article on page 4 is entitled 'ten questions about sex answered'.. question 8: does god approve of homosexuality?.

  i had a dream last night that i went to a meeting.

  the speaker announced we were going to sing the "we're jehovah's witnesses" song, to which i said an audible "dear god" which got a bunch of dirty looks from other people sitting by me.

  so now i'm awake, sipping my coffee, and i have "we're jehovah's witnesses" stuck in my head.

  how important is it now and how important will it be?.

  i think of some of the cases in history that the wt has fought.... the 40s and 50s were spent defending the right to preach.

  ok pretty important gains for everyone in freedom of speech etc.

  This is a late thought, but has anyone considered filing a brief as a "friend of the court" perhaps emphasizing that the thing should not be dropped merely because the WT or whomever says that they are now complying? In the interests of making certain it is case law and that there is a precedent that this is not optional or discretionary? I am sure that great examples of such issues (being let off too easy) could be found in other religious or social organizations (schools, scouts, etc). Because I think that a motion for dismissal is likely. Someone needs to fight against that and speak with prosecutors office. If possible and if there is any kind of legal use of that FRIEND OF COURT status in Australia. . .

  I moved to the middle east. That pretty much took care of any lingering JW issues:) Evangelizing will get you deported here, IF you are lucky. I wouldn't want to discover the Qatari prison system, the only thing good I could say about it is that it has a great location overlooking the corniche(waterfront). I don't think they hold much with windows in the prison though, so it's wasted on everyone but the guards in the 'watchtower' (Only kind of watchtowers allowed in this country are the kind attached to forts and prisons!)
