i'm older than my classmates and armageddon was sooooo close!
Congratulations, Billy! It has been a trip watching you through your journey-and guess what, you now have a NEW journey to begin! Best wishes in all your future endeavors.
im in a bit of a bind and im not quite sure what (if anything) i can do about it.
i was recently hired as a business consultant for a rather large company.
the company that hired me mentioned that they are concerned about a certain department and the way its being run, as this department affects every other department in the company.
Shadow, I think the OP allowed himself to relate too much to the guy based on the common background and it likely just made him uncomfortable-wanting to help the guy cause he knows where he is coming from and why he is kind of weird and a bad fit. It distracted him from his (I assume) normal perspective and frame of reference since he knows the "whys".
Everyone is right though. The performance review doesn't need toknow the whys-they need toknow the problem and how it has been addressed. The HR guy is not cut out for his job and should be re-assigned to something he is successful at (and it is clear that he must have been good at something toget that position) or should get some intensive training in leadership (which is a good idea for any new management w/o any good background or training in leadership).
I wish the OP and the employee well. We ALL know the weird JW's. ...most of us used to BE them. We gotta root for these guys cause statistically speaking, they are likely to be out someday too and trying to make a new life without normal friends or the dubious support of their WT associates. They have a rough row to hoe!

i do miss the christian companionship and association.
Welcome to the board. I am not a local, but I know that you will meet some ex JWs and a lot of NEVER JWs and make some good friends. Keep findingthings tat you love to do and you will find people that you like along the way.

note what happens below about age 30. print media reading pretty much vanishes.. .
i don't think jw.org is going to amount to much of anything, cash wise.. .
They probably read it and that isthe reason for JW.(b)org
Unfortunately for THE BORG, a whole lot of stuff is at ones fingertips with a computer or IPAD or smart phone. The WT is screwed.I am sure they will come up with a proprietary web service of some kind to try to control it, but that ship has really sailed. Even in Pakistan and Arabia it iseasy to bypass censors on computer networks. hahhahahahahah
good news report: talked to a man who is currently studying with the.
jws.
he called into jwstruggle.com and asked to talk to someone.. i called him back .
Thank you! I wish my mom or dad had gone to someone like you. My mom never would, but had my dad met anyone like you all, he might have dragged my mom out of the mess.
hey everyone.. i'm trying to convince mrs.objectivetruth to join the forum, but she's a bit nervous.
perhaps if you all can give her some words of encouragement, it will convince her to join the jwn family... btw she already knows ttatt.. she's just not convinced to join the forum..
Mrs. OT, you are welcome to join and if all you do is read, that's ok! We would enjoy your participation-its always wonderful to hear of the experiences of others and find common ground and commisseration. You are welcome in whichever way you choose to participate.
ahhhhhh......man....... .
so now we have to count all tracts / leaflets / meeting invitations etc as placements on the monthly report slip???.
is this just another method of control or accountability!
Just makes the "numbers" look more impressive. Placing magazines was a lot harder than just leaving a leaflet in the door. Just wait to see the "numbers" explode and suddenly everyone is reinvigorated and inspired to do more!!
were there ever specific occurrences which you or those around you thought might be the start of "armageddon"?.
i remember 9/11 being such a day as it happened right as the meeting for field service ended.
it was the week of the c.o.
My mom still gets excited over the earthquakes and of course, 9/11/2001 was huge for her. Every good disaster is a phone call or mention of how difficult this old world is getting to live in. . . . Even a school shooting, a mall shooting or a bad weekend in the rough area of Chicago will get a note.. .it can't go on MUCH longer, can it???
