  Stuckinarut, there was a recent Redcliffe in Israel about JW baptism at a war memorial.went to court after the second venue was objected to by locals. JWs won, but the fact that they scheduled a baptism in such a place seems kind of like they were picking a fight. Baptism at a war memorial? Not just named that way, they are serious about those places in israel. Plus, it was Israel! They won't baptize in the Jordan river? I really think they were looking for persecution.

  Kaik, you are right. In our country, there are more Arab Christians than muslims, though they often can be found in the same neighborhoods like Desi people do. For all the media, you will find halal food next to Hindu and Christian holiday festival items in a lot of Indian stores. The diet is nearly identical and so are many traditions - because the are Indian, not Muslim or Hindu or Christian. That Americans are often ignorant of such things is too bad, but we are learning.

  Lol. The WT makes it difficult for anyone to fully accept the trinity and they spend years indoctrinating us against Christendom. So, we are introduced to a faith that rejects trinity and respects Jesus. Women are taught to be modest. Me are taught to keep their eyes to themselves. Really, this is not rocket science. Not that there are many rocket scientist JWs. Oh, and I personally know two Muslim rocket scientists and as a former JW I am interested in how important education is to the people I have gotten to know. Especially after my childhood which was dismissive of higher education.

  Having read so much incorrect information about Islam, it occurs to me that they recognized factual errors that Muslim studies were probably calling them on.

  And yes,jws do preach at Muslims. My aunt tries to witness to me by supposedly recounting her studies with a Muslim woman. Oh and she thinks generalizing her experiences working with a Muslim employer would influence me. While I know there are dodgy employer s in every religion, she made the mistake of assuming (or fibbing about, for a good witness) her former Sikh boss was Muslim. I met him before I became Muslim and asked him about his faith(red turban gave it away).

  If the JWs DF'd him, it would be doing the rest of the congregation a favor, but if he is abusing your mom, she should report it and you (and elders if they give a damn) should help her to get in a safe place. Your dad is not safe to your mom or any person. He hurts animals, his wife and he'd hurt you too.

  Honestly, if the congregation helped your mom in this, I'd be willing to risk having some warm and fuzzies directed their way. I don't WANT to loathe everything about the org. I am happy to see them do something right. I am happy when true goodness prevails over WT interests.

  Aid and abet them to do the right thing for your mom and innocent animals everywhere.

  This account makes me ill. I am sure that your daughter is sorry for whatever got her DF'd (if only because she messed around with a jerk JW), and between her and god, there are no hard feelings. I think your wife needs to have pointed out to her that getting back to the Bible, your daughter is morally clean. YOU and your wife know what's what and you have your OWN consciences that can be clear with speaking to your daughter. Can't you find a nugget of even scripture to get your wife to thinking about this. . . or as head of the household why can't you declare WHAT is necessary family business. Besides the WT made up that stupid condition? This is between you and God, not you and the congregation-they don't know her or care about her.

  Your wife must be really awesome, amazing, beautiful, wonderful cook provider and (otherwise) the kindest person in the world for you to put up with this nonsense about your daughter and letting her control your relationship in that way. That is heartbreaking, even if daughter knows you are on her side internally, your visible loyalty is being given to that organization. It must be a heartbreaker for her and is telling the kids a lesson about grandma and grandpa's religion that is a true but ugly witness when they know they have a good mom who is loving and kind.

  It will be interesting to learn who owns the outside contractors. One JW could make a lot of profit on a job like this, even if he hired non JW professionals. Giving the jobs to JW contractors with the right skills and employees could have other implications. . . buts that is just me being suspicious.

  conversation came up this morning and i need to get into my wife's head.

  mother in law was talking and she said something her mother (who was not a jw) use to say.

  Anyone else have JW Business Cards?

  my cong has these business cards on the lit desk for maybe 2 months now, is this just something that they have done locally or is this a org wide thing?

  there are two different types we have, this is the front and back of one of them..
