I was in high school. Two years after I was DAd, I was on homecoming float with the little girl I babysat, who was 2. I was on the committee and had agreed to babysit since her folks were desperate. Soon afterwards, I found that I left so I could live a disoloute lifestyle. . .and had a little girl. I was a virgin when the rumor started. My mom heard it at the hall. I think it softened her towards me since she knew it was false. They were pretty ugly about it. Years later a JW saw me with my son and made comments about his big sister. He might still wonder about that! -

Is Lett a real person or some kind of poorly made robot? Nothing else online has such a dysfunctional synchronization unless they are dubbing in a a different language family. not being content to prevent young persons attending university, they went one step further and treated with hostility any youngster who would "tie up five years of their lives" by entering into an apprenticeship.

by Simon insome terrible flooding happening there.. i never realized that texas was so prone to serious floods and flash-floods because of the geography and weather.
it tops the stats nearly every year for flood fatalities.. stay safe, stay dry if you can and don't take any chances.
water is unbelievably powerful - whatever vehicle you have it can sweep it away like a twig.

I have friends and family all over Houston. I should be there now, but glad I'm not, honestly. My neighborhood has lots of flooding but my home is ok. No one I know is harmed, thankfully. Others are, tragically. -

i can understand it, but still, it's not constructive or helpful.. if you condemn the society for not changing, but then you also condemn them when they do change in a positive way, what incentive or motive does that provide for the people at the society to ever want to change for the better?.
also, what does that attitude look like to current witnesses who are having doubts?.

The WT doesn't change for the better. It changes when it has to. Technology and society made the internet go from being a tool of the devil to see blessing from Jehovah. Some unknown JWs medical condition transformed fractions of blood to a conscience issue instead of a disfelloshippin issue and more remarkably, made those fractions to not really BE blood. Similarly, other formerly forbidden blood related surgical procedures are now allowed. Nothing about scripture or blood actually changed.
Overlapping generations-time is biting them on the butt. This trend will continue.
Types and anti - types are likewise having time and history demonstrate that the teachings were false and self serving. To wipe that out with one fell swoop was self serving as they now get to dismiss so much of the nonsense that is now proven to be nonsense.
It's true,the WTBTS has shown no remorse or repentance for their words and actions. You would have been DFd for any of the false teachings had they been yours, b u t also DFd if you would have asked tough questions about the original teachings or the changes.
