Jehovah Witness cult is Anti-christ.... proof seen in the use of BCE/CE instead of AD/BC
by goingthruthemotions inso being around this cult, i always found it interesting that the rest of christianity use ad/bc and the non christians use bce/ce.
i never put two and two together.
but, it dawned on me that once again there is hidden proof that the witness cult is and anti-christ cult.

The org took up the secular term deliberately and I remember it explained once that there was nothing "christian" about this era:) I do believe it was to set them apart as they did take the time to explain why they used the other terminology (probably in "The Truth that Leads to Eternal Life"-The Truth book) -

Trolley Stands Up, Door-to-Door Work Down?
by steve2 inseveral threads have discussed the increased use of of the trolley work by witnesses in various countries (e.g, australia, new zealand, the states, canada and britain to name a few).
several posters have described trolley settings as largely ignored by passersby and/or the witnesses immersed in everything other than appearing ready and waiting to make contact with passersby.
what impact will this increased shift to trolley work have on the hallmark feature of jws, their door-to-door work?

A family member who is a pioneer has a standing date each week to do cart work. There is a schedule and she is in it every week. She re-arranges her schedule to be on the cart-for whatever it is worth. She has a big minivan for regular work though, and you know how most don't contribute to gas, so I can see why she'd like the cart. -

It will cost more. I wonder how that will figure into the money grubbing? I wonder if the professionals that are hired are JW contractors? I also wonder if there was some crazy arse litigation or new laws regarding safety in Spain. -

My field service group leader wants to meet me
by Powermetal4ever inhe kind of invited me to a barbecue or something, and asked if my parents wanted to come along as well.
it felt really awkard, i mean i am 20++.
i was sceptic, so he told me he would send me a sms about an other fitting day instead.i probably didnt look too happy about that either, so he told me that maybe he could invite some other in the group.

Being marginalised by JW's and family, how to combat it?
by Crazyguy inwhen one leaves the religion and fades it starts to become obvious that they move on with out you but this is not enough for them so they also marginalize you, loose respect for you etc.
they even tell stories about you.
example my wife talking to my mother tells her that i now believe aliens came to this planet and created man.

Move forward. If you keep looking behind you, you will trip yourself up.
None of these people will cry when you are dead. They won'tshow up for funeral. Who CARES what they think? They will only show up later to try and get their hooks in those that really mourn you. (Warn them of those tactics).
Live well-best witness you can give them of consequences of leaving Borg.

Disturbing hidden image in w15 04/15 page 9 (Not DF image)
by campaign of hate incould someone do me a favor and post the picture on page 9 on the above mentioned watchtower.. i'll point it out, very surprised no one else has picked up on this creepy image..

I didn't see it, but the WTBTS has a history of creepy images that they are not even trying to hide, which is incriminating enough imo. I have seen a few examples of pictures in pictures but I think that they are bored artists, not a plot. They can't even organize their teachings, what is the use of subliminal teachings? They tell JWs insane stuff all the time and they accept it all without question. Without illustrations. -

This is what leadership looks like
by Pistoff insince the day pope francis told catholics to stop obsessing about abortion and gay marriage, and get to the business of helping the poor, i have been afraid for his life.. in one statement, he pierced 2 sacred cows of catholic and evangelical thought, and he has not stopped.. he has lectured the world on real evils, mentioning capitalism in particular as a system that has left billions in desperate poverty.. he has now said that global warming threatens the world, particularly the poor, and is calling on the world to change it's lifestyle to save the planet.. i can't remember ever, in my entire life, when someone in as powerful a position as the pope, actually speaks out loud and in public the actual truth of the world's environment and calling the world to action, without regard for the consequences.. hard line catholics don't like him; fox news hates him, one pundit telling him to leave science to the scientists (of course, fox news doesn't leave global warming to the scientists) and today this from greg gutfield, fox news:.
"the most dangerous person on the planet is someone who is seeking strange new respect from their adversaries.
and that is what the pope is doing, said gutfeld, implying that the recognition of the existence of man-made climate change is fundamentally at odds with catholicism.

Don't always agree with him but I quite like this pope. -

Sounds familiar! The first case of its kind un uk against a christian group. I wonder if they consider catholics christian or if they have so few left that its not been an issue there with that group. In any case they set precedent.
There is no clerical/confessional privilege in the UK btw. I think that went out around the same time as they invented priest holes when CATHOLICS were the ones being persecuted.

After twenty years of marriageā¦
by John Aquila ini just got a call from a friend who informed me that a brother whom i've known for a while and is an elder, just found out last night that his wife of 20+ years declared she was gay, and left him..
i still need to confirm but my friend is very reliable and was close friends with the family.
heres the thing, she spent 20+ years with this man, has children with him and now decides she wants to follow her heart.

It would be upsetting for a marriage partner to leave after 20 years no matter why or with whom. It would be sad, probably for her, too. No one puts in that much time without regrets, unless they are literally in jail. WTBTS notwithstanding, she was not just a JW, but a wife and mom. It wasn't an easy choice. -

Article in Australian newspaper regarding jw shunning and charity
by umbertoecho inthis may have been posted before.
however, if you want to read the article about jw shunning and denial of this practice, then have a read.
there is mention of redefining "charity" in terms of how that operates.. http://www.smh.com.au/national/jehovahs-witnesses-a-cruel-cult-20130315-2g5x3.html.

Losing tax exempt status to some great degree (by religious and dubious 'charities' for anything not expressly and truly charitable) would sure be a great way to "judge" the real charitableness of a religion. Are they generous and kind if they don't taxes abated? Would they think that the publishing was worth it? Would they remove every bit of church activity or charitable things that they value now if they were not getting all taxes removed? If they had to pay for land taxes and employment taxes for ministers and they didn't get anything beyond normal business deductions (another tax issue that needs to lose some wiggliness)-would they bother?
If actual PREACHING activity was not tax deductible, but only actually feeding or housing, heaing needy people was-would churches bother with other 'outreach' activities? How would it work? I hope I live in a world sometime that knows!!
