Getting rid of disfellowshipping?
by BashfulAshG inif they did that, it would be the end of the jws because they won't have members.

Geoffrey Jackson. Seems he will be compelled to front up.
by umbertoecho inpray for brother jackson of the governing body!.
in todays news from australia it appears that, despite his previous declination to appear when invited, justice mcclellan from the australian royal commission on child sex abuse will officially summon brother geoffrey jackson to the stand after all.. ..... the commission was due to conclude its hearings into the jehovahs witnesses on wednesday but justice mcclellan said he will now call geoffrey jackson, a senior member of the churchs governing body in new york who is currently in australia, to appear next week.. .

I love how mr. Stewart has a way of asking questions that are not accusatory and still their answers can only make them look like asses. or, he can make an inarguable, factual comment that demonstrates how demonic the practices are. One other thing, he is actually subtly showing how they interpret scripture in a way that is NOT the logical or reasonable way and certainly not correct.
I love how MUCH he does not rush, I love his quiet self confident composed competence.
Good qualities in a man generally!

My moms already shunning me from an article on fb about religion response to child abuse. Other religions were picked on (her words) too, but jws led the article.
I think most jws are unable to hear such things so they think that if I or you just shut up, no one would notice what the org is up to.

Got rid of some things, I feel relieved
by Mandrake inwell after a long way out, and the divorce of my jw parents, and a long internal struggle, i'm finally living with my mother, openly said to her that i'm not a jw anymore, she's ok with that and getting more and more open-minded every day.
today i visited my self storage space wich i rented after the family split and got rid of all the jw related stuff, my mother only asked me to keep the insight the scriptures volumes... i felt very relieved after disposing those things, one by one, not feeling, i hope my mother is her way to wake up soon :) greetings from santiago, chile!
(you will see some magazines in spanish others in english because i was in the list for the english versions hahaha)

Feedback on RC from JW Friendly Site
by konceptual99 inthere has been some comment on the latest rc proceedings on that well know jw friendly site.. one set of posts has been particularly interesting as the poster related their own experience as an abuse victim when they were a child in the congregation.
this of course took courage and the poster deserves no criticism at all for this.
he is, however, still very supportive of the organisation.. this is his latest post:.

If I could still get pregnant, my next boy would be named Angus Stewart S_____. Seriously and sincerely. I'd get IVF if I wasn't too flipping old! He is my hero.
I could adopt. . .

Yesterday I posted a topic with personal details of one of the RC staff.
by umbertoecho ini posted a topic with personal contact information on it.
such stupidity and i do deeply apologise to the person and the commission.. it has been taken down thank fully.. this morning i came skulking out of my cave, and with trepidation started the computer and checked my emails.............. there was a lovely compassionate email from the staff at rc telling me not to be too upset at what i had done.
they said they understood and it was important that i not get too distressed at the error.. then they said they were thankful for all the support and gratitude being shown to them from various parties and other places.

So, the men that we have seen responding like human beings to these things have a whole staff of real human beings? Wow. What an example that those "worldly" people set! -

They know the RC is going to be an issue: August Broadcast talk with Tony
by leavingonthenextplane inthey are told that persecution is coming and that all will see it.. they are told that there will be lies in the media about us.. they even give the old brother king interview about brothers being jailed.
the last sentence tony the tiger damn near screams at the camera to stay faithful you integrity keepers... he knows your fathers and husbands may be going to jail.
this talk is all about damage control.. .

Is he insinuating that all brothers are abusers or guilty of covering it up?
Not much in the way of actual persecution is going on, so it tells me there may be a legal reason right now why many will go to jail. What's really going on in all those elder meetings?

JW EXPERT WITNESS FLOORED BY COMMISSION OF INQUIRY LAWYER
by steve2 inmuch has already been written about dr monica applewhite, the expert witness hired by the jw organization.
her job was to provide "expert" testimony to the australian commission of inquiry into jehovsh's witnesses' policies and practices on child sexual abuse.
astonishingly, dr applewhite was unprepared for the inquiry lawyers' questions.

The WT was counting on the inquiry being filled with people who are as ill-educated and informed about their religion as Applewhite and other experts who testify for them. They were counting on this to be some po-dunk little inquiry that had no bearing in the real world and which would be blinded by their smoke and mirrors (and their own theory that other religions are worse, so theirs should be applauded)
Think how many judges and juries have been given the WT version over the years and buy into it without too many questions. Always with the pretty outside impression of nice people spreading the gospel. . . how could anyone blame them when bad people infiltrate? But that was the entire purpose of the inquiry with EVERY group(case study)-to find the real issues in this and correct them. They aren't picking on the WT, they are trying to get to the truth and I think they are smart cookies. This is not about the govt picking on them, the prosecutor picking on them. This is a REAL look at how things work. No one is getting into trouble. Yet:) There will be new laws as a result of this RC and it will be directed to all organizations-not just religious (so much for that all religions will be persecuted bit they like to holler about).
Applewhite is just the kind of beaurocratic silliness that helps them-the ones who look at written things and no NOTHING of the underlying structure and culture. The RC guy-(who I might form a fan club for) did his homework. He isn't busy trying to look like a super efficient fast talking Perry Mason. He is thoughtful, listening and respondiing with a thorough background in the entire topic. He is my new hero.
The WT and its minions have gotten away with so much for so long that they don't even bother trying anymore. This testimony is a testament to that.
