Nowadays whenever I see the "WT", i mentally add the F. Because really, that is what most of that stuff is.

Yeah, well every JW in the world will tell you that "you hardly need ANY blood in your body to survive, its only the medical cabal that has caused you to believe that you need blood if you lose it. The Red Cross is behind all this. . . and did you hear about the JW lady who only had two ounces of blood left in her body and survived?Blood transfusions are just a big conspiracy and JWs don't really die from a lack of blood, they die from blood transfusions! "
Yada yada.

Internally rolling my eyes.. Get this
by raven ina bit of an update, last weekend was my great grandmothers funeral, now, she was never a jw, and never was going to be, no matter how hard my mother, and grandmother tried to preach to her, she was the type of person that would kindly accept a wt or a book, but she wouldn't bother reading them.. anyways, she was a great wonderful and inspiring woman, the funeral was extremely sad, she had been a school teacher for over 35 years and a member of various clubs, so there were a lot of folks besides family that attended.. well, anyways i was there and so was my jw mother, stepfather, and grandmother, we were cordial, didn't talk about anything jw related because, it was great grandmothers funeral, not really a time to discuss how i am an evil sinner, or how i've escaped the org by avoiding df'ing, right?
wrong, as i'm sitting waiting for the service to begin, a lady shows up, now- i have known this woman for a long time, apparently she baby sat me as a small child, (like i remember?
) so she isn't someone i was ever close with, but knew of her or when she was around would say hi to and make small talk.. to give you a tid-bit on her personality though, she is one of those crazy jw's.. she claims to have been possessed by a demon, very very wacky on the prophesies, or gb talks, etc.

What a blessing you had in your great grandmother. People like that one lady can only make you appreciate your loving and sane grandmother all the more. My dad was my bit of sanity. I'm glad you had one, also!

Whatever we think about this, in the end, the WT will be made to pay. It may not be the justice system-heavenly or earthly, but humanity has had enough of this in even the most backward places. The times are a changing and they can't hide anymore and that is worth plenty, in my book. If the Supremes don't get the org and God doesn't, Karma will. Things will change because they have to-and they WT/CCJW will suffer for their actions and JWs will respond more human like as time goes on because the upcoming "generation" is just plain not as indoctrinated to think they have the "only true religion" anymore. JWs are playing the church game like everyone else and they are less likely to be "true believers". The WT/CCJW has jumped the shark.

No Longer a JW Expert But Starting to Figure Out Life
by AllTimeJeff inconsider this an update for those that remember me here.... when i left in 2006, it started a 10 year journey into a new phase.
no more "safety".
some people want to be their own person.

I always enjoy your posts. I like no longer being an expert anymore. I like that it is becoming just an incidental part of my life (like when I nearly drowned at age 9-but I barely remember it anymore).
Getting over it sure beats the alternative, but no one gets over a long entrenched disease overnight.

Skinned and Thrown About.....
by Tech49 inthis is a little long, but stick with me.. if you recall, when the building work was in full swing at the new lakefront villa (warwick), wt was having workers come and they would put them up for a year, or more, while they were providing "volunteer services".
with that, and the impending need for hundreds and hundreds of new khs in the usa territory, the congregations were abuzz with the need for "continued construction volunteers".
recently, as many of you know, wt headquarters has sent pretty much everyone home, and is no longer needing workers at the new warwick site, as the building is mostly complete, with the dedication coming up later this year.

Well, these stories are an example of the equivalent education level to a college degree that they are getting there with the WT. They were warned on the one hand and enticed with the other. Decades of "the end is just around the corner", and "this old system of things can't be sustained any longer" overcame any warning, just like it did with previous generations-overlapping ones!
JWs are constantly told that common sense things are "worldly" and that they need to respond to the "kingdom message" which is constantly bashing 'em on the head with the shortness of time left in this system of things.
BUT. . . they can flip to Malachi in NO time, so, there's that!

A problem for believers
by Bugbear ina problem for believers!.
a majority of the world’s population acknowledge that they believe in a superior god or in their creator.
they also claim that they have got this special understanding and knowledge of his will and his law.

this topic has turned out more interesting than I thought it would. I have nothing deeper to contribute than that, but I will say that I always enjoy David Jay's thoughtful insights and information.

Attitude in Kingdom Hall vs. in church
by Yesu Kristo Bwana Wangu inso, today i went to a different church than the jw's for the first time in over three years.. it is a protestant african church.
my first thoughts: for people who are 'trapped in babylon the great (according to watchtower) these people really seem genuingly happy and sincere in their adoration for god.
what a freedom compared to the witnesses!

I think lads churches are less worshippy than some churches but there is definitely a more generous spirit in the place and the church fosters fellowship and encourages community interaction and participation and fosters relationships in he congregation.
Opposite the WT

The mom beating her kid because she was afraid of him abusing her. Being chastised publicly was like a fate worse then death. The WT is the same, just larger scaled and slightly (not much) more subtle. Solitary confinement as a way "to get through to" people that he actually thought was a good way!
Yeah. shades of JWism.
