i think most "worldly" people consider jws a nusiance---especially on a saturday morning!
they hate being bothered by peddlers at their door.
some people can't stand the witnesses' smugness and self righteous attitude.
My husband hates any religion that comes to his door and challenges his religion. He says they have no right interrupting his day to try and get him to leave his religion and become "one of those drones". His words not mine.
I don't 'hate' JWs, but I do think their smug self-righteousness is very wearying to the soul.

Ask your husband what he would do if you had children together, born and raised as JWs, who left to join the army? Or how he would treat his wife who helped her son buy condoms? I am thinking that he might not be the most active, involved witness if he married you, so he might not know that he would no longer have contact with the daughter who left the org and joined the army. He would have you brought before elders and reproved.
Are you aware of what the WT organization (JW's) say about EVERY other religion? Have you seen their latest tract?
hi all im new here, just stumbled accros the website while looking at some jw info and wasn't sure exactly what this forum was, then i quickly realised its actually just what i wanted to find!!
however there isnt really any introduction information, like a clear home page and if you are actually alighned with a particular group/organisation!
anyway, i hope to read lots more interesting stories and hopefully i will find something im after.. cheers.
WV peach, a baptist or methodist would have no problem calling themselves a sister or brother in Christ along side you. A JW would not. Your husband does not consider you to be such.

MV Peach, Ask your husband his opinion on whether there is any denomination that is ordained by God. Or 'perfect' as the case may be. You can bet your bippy he is convinced that he is in it. He also hopes that you will be spared the fate of other non-JWs by your close association with him. Have you ever asked him what his religion says will happen to all non-Jehovah's Witnesses?
hello all, missed you all lots.. thought id pop on and update you, well bubs has missed both of her due dates, im as big as a whale and looking forward to having it all over.
i go into hosp today for my last app where i will be booked in for inducement, seeings tho she doesnt want to make her appearance at all.. ive been in and out of hosp with health problems, and those braxton hicks well they hurt like hell and made me think i was in labour more than once.
but at least i get a date today which should be in the next few days i will be holding my baby girl.. hope you are all well.
Nothing more embarassing than leaving a hospital 10 mos pregnant with a suitcase and no baby. My 3d child was almost 2 weeks late and the BH got me fooled-docs too until they did an internal exam. You are a beautiful mom--to-be. I hope all goes well for you-congratulations! Babies are the best.

I am glad he was encouraged to turn himself in-and I don't care about the motivations of the one encouraging him-so long as he went to the police. It could be that this guy met up with a decent JW elder who simply did the thing he SHOULD do in any case. I hope. I rather think there is more to it, but he will forever be known now for doing this horrible thing to children, and will never be able to exploit children again with obscurity. That will follow him-it isn't just a police report, its in the news, He can't hide.

i remember being a teenager and being at friends home on saturdays, and every time you turn around there was a witness knocking at the door.
my non-witness friends would be nice, and say no, as they did not want to insult me.
even though, as a teenager, i was not a witnesses (baptized) and did not make a public show of my connection to people outside of the congregation.
I rarely see them anymore. I think once I left the rest of them all just lost heart. See what a big impact just one person can make on a worldwide organization??

I am sorry for the loss of your mom. While she no doubt prayed for your recovery, I don't think God makes those kind of deals. If he DID though, your mom must have loved you so much-that you even consider that she would pray in that way tells me a lot of how you were sure of her deep love for you. That you lost her is sad, but that you had such a mom is a blessing.
Keep an eye on that goiter issue-for your kids and yourself. That is pretty scary!
