I thought it would be over by 1975, but it was just a vague kid notion as I was just a vague kid:) Surprise, surprise, I not only had to get a period(kind of hoped that armageddon would supercede that kind of reality), but I gave birth to 3 kids and went through the change. So much for never getting old!

Sorry about the mess up.
I don't know how Blondies does it. She keeps SO up on all the WT stuff. She knows more about what is happening currently than my very active mom does. She has to READ all that SCHLOK and STUDY it. It makes me insane just to skim through it!
I don't know whether to thank her or commit her, so I will take the more gracious approach and thank her from the bottom of my heart for reading all that and studying it so I don't have to anymore. If there is a God in Heaven (and I think there is) then you will get some points for martyrdom or something.
Thank you again, dear dear Blondie.

Jehovah Witnesses favor 'Babylon the Great' 'We had favour with the Jehovah's Witnesses. They wanted to give it to a faith-based organisation.'

Anybody else appreciating that they are NOW running charitable endeavors there? Anyone else wonder why the WT would want to sell its property to Christendom-a part of babylon the great?

What a tragedy for the family; I can't believe that after a medical exam and evidence that the girl was not communicating with the 'facilitator' that the case continued! Based on what?
And 1.8 million dollars wil not restore the children to their parents when they have shattered the trust in the family in every direction imaginable.

From what I understood, the pastor, who seemed conscientious, did not believe that he had a firm accusation, just someone who was wondering if she had enough info to report. Apparently, at that time, no one thought there was a firm accusation. The minute he had such information, he DID report it. Still, they prosecuted him (wish they would go at the JWs more!)
Michigan has some interesting laws in this area between reporting, testifying, etc. They are worth noting as they are not the standard and tend to be challenged more-I think they are perhaps a little confusing to the 'reporters'. Almost all the cases that don't involve JWs seem to come out of Michigan(or I just keep seeing them there)

Massive rise in the Columbia River...
by Glander inwe live three miles above the bonneville dam.
they have shut down many gates in order to provide more water for the salmon ladders.
this raises our banks and results in about a 4 foot drop in river levels below the dam.

I used to love to sit by the Columbia and watch it traveling down the banks of the river. I wrote poetry when I sat there. Nothing good, but it inspired me to think beautiful thoughts, even if on paper they weren't so gorgeous:)
I miss the Columbia. My home now is the Gulf Coast. I am near some other, not so impressive rivers-still lovely, but the Columbia-it's something else!

This has been done before. It will take time, but you can do it. You fade away a bit, marry your partner (if you actually want to marry, mind you) announce it, it will be a setback perhaps for reinstatement process but you can eventually be reinstated if you suck up enough. Then, back in good graces, you buck up for a year or so, make a good show. . .then move to another congregation and fade away without getting kicked out. Keep contact with the folks, keep involved with the family. Don't push the envelope at least until the parents have passed, then decide how much you actually want to keep faking it. That's my suggestion. DON'T let your spouse get caught up in the religion unless you want an entire life of conflict and angst.

I understand that you're unsure what to do or how to feel about your position and you seem to be a bit ambivalent about the religion itself. Let that stuff resolve themselves in your life as need be, but I do second the person earlier who warned you not to marry. Whether to cure yourself or to repent or to try to "live right" even if you feel differently-just don't do that to another person or persons (children). They do not need to be drug through the turmoil that you will indeed face at some point. You can avoid a lot of heartache by refraining from that mistake. Your feelings won't go away, no matter how good a woman you find or how well you get along.
This can implode on you and I would encourage you to build strong relationships outside of the org as well as begin to see a therapist/counselor of some kind to develop a strategy to overcome the challenges you will be facing. Build up a good career, good friends and other interests outside the organization. If possible, find a good excuse to step down from your position. That will just exacerbate the hassles eventually-you don't need any more.
Get a long term strategy in place, gird up yourself and know that you have hundreds here who are rooting for you, if only because we know what you will be in for and we have a clue as to what you are going through already when you know you have a big issue to deal with that is currently unresolved.
My best regards to you-I wish you only well.
