  i see an attitude among some people here which is not very helpful.

  i can understand it, but still, it's not constructive or helpful.. if you condemn the society for not changing, but then you also condemn them when they do change in a positive way, what incentive or motive does that provide for the people at the society to ever want to change for the better?.

  also, what does that attitude look like to current witnesses who are having doubts?.

  The WT doesn't change for the better. It changes when it has to. Technology and society made the internet go from being a tool of the devil to see blessing from Jehovah. Some unknown JWs medical condition transformed fractions of blood to a conscience issue instead of a disfelloshippin issue and more remarkably, made those fractions to not really BE blood. Similarly, other formerly forbidden blood related surgical procedures are now allowed. Nothing about scripture or blood actually changed.

  Overlapping generations-time is biting them on the butt. This trend will continue.

  Types and anti - types are likewise having time and history demonstrate that the teachings were false and self serving. To wipe that out with one fell swoop was self serving as they now get to dismiss so much of the nonsense that is now proven to be nonsense.

  It's true,the WTBTS has shown no remorse or repentance for their words and actions. You would have been DFd for any of the false teachings had they been yours, b u t also DFd if you would have asked tough questions about the original teachings or the changes.

  my parents haven't seen it, thanks to the chilly weather i've been wearing a sweater around them.

  The worst they can do-isn't much. Mild disappointment-well, as JWs who left (in one fashion or another) mild disappointment is easy, comparitively.

  I hope your dad doesn't stop talking to you, but if he does, it says something, doesn't it?

  Nothing there is an improvement over the WT. Thats dissapointing . The only redemptive thing is he admitted it, didn't blame anyone else and apologized. OH they aren't criticizing those who exposed it. That is better than JW way of turning it on those who expose their wrongdoing.

  I was once a JW kid that wanted to please Jehovah. But even without the heavy handed money grubbing currently in place, I recognized the lack of real charity going on when school had food drives and I got the speech about how little time was left and how worthless it is to help needy people. Those little Sofia's will turn into teenagers and have a built in excuse to begin questioning EVERYTHING. And they will. There will be a missing generation. This may do more damage than 1975, ultimately. Here's hoping!

  They are paying and guilty. Punitive damages would be nice, but that was an error in the tactics of the legal team. WT is still legally in the wrong,no putting thAt genie back in the bottle.

  so, i am reposting this video from wifibandit's thread since it is a bit off topic.

  i watched this video and i have to say that this guy really creeps me out.

  his slow and methodical gestures coupled with with his over-annuciation of every word makes him appear absolutely crazy!.

  Applewaite looks weirder, like an actual alien, even in repose. But Lett is weirder to watch while speaking and to listen to. Applewaites content was weirder.
