  in this video the popular saudi cleric sheik yahya al-jana discusses the joys of paradise, saying that men will have the strength of a hundred men in paradise and will be busy tearing hymens, while the virgins of paradise, whose breasts are like pomegranates, become virgins every time again.. the cleric also explains it is mostly men who enter paradise noting that women in general are bad because they refuse to wear the veil, they wear tight clothes in shopping malls, put on perfume and jewelry, and use filthy social media platforms.

  is it any wonder islamic countries treat women appallingly?.

  The only internet reference to that sheik seemed to be that story repeated often. The source of it seems to only be MEMRI.

  It is not the only person I ever heard that made reference to more than one wife, but all that hymen talk is actually a new one to me!

  In real life, sheikhs do not commonly repeat that kind of thing teaching it literally. Even those who believe it do their best to back off the literal.

  I dismiss hadith entirely so hearsay about what Mohammed said holds little weight. OTOH, most Muslims would dismiss me as a Muslim, so there is that!

  Like the wife who expects that the roses billed on the credit card were mis-delivered and that the expensive jewelry item is just being held back by her husband for a truly special event.

  He's a nut if that's what he said. MEMRI is somewhat of a propaganda machine, and is not representative of teachings I have received, but I don't listen to misogynist cavemen who repeat foolish, disputed sayings that are illogical, self-serving claptrap.

  Religion seems to attract self righteous booger butts, as witnessed by our presence on this board. Many Christians are normal folks, but the JWs cult doesn't speak for all Christians any more that that man speaks for all Muslims.

  Every Benny Hinn-like preacher in the MENA region seems to have a tv channel, including a lot of nutty Christian ones. I saw a wide variety of interesting programming on the hundreds of channels available on cable over there. Many are only on a few hours a day. I'm not sure what the deal is there, but we had pornography and the kabba channels, shopping networks, matchmaking sites for Indians. . .any nutty thing.

  bethel in brazil (and i think in other countries as well) when a jw does 10 years of regular pioneer (or other form of full-time service) it can ask to stay three days in bethel.no longer in brazil, according to a letter sent today to all the congregations in brazil:ref .

  heartbroken and not sure what to do...

  i don't know what to do.... i married last year and things have been very rocky.

  we dated for 4 years and did have normal issues but always had a lingering doubt something was just not right in our relationship-behavior to be more specific, he is not a jw, but i am.

  yes i know i married outside the "lord" but after my first marriage to a jw ended in divorce for physical abuse, i was glad i didn't married another jw.

  Refusing intimacy with a wife. . .I was the wife for 20 years. It wasn't aspergers, it was rejection and control. I should have ended it long before. At least he will see a doctor, but it seems intractable. I'm sorry. A stubbornly cold marriage partner is soul killing. How else can we take it other than personally?

  The rejection was like a knife. It kills self esteem and takes the fun out of everything because your always wondering how they even feel a bout you. Is he gay? Is he getting it elsewhere? Does he like me at all?

  There willunlinkely be a recognition of anniversary. You do your thing, he won't.

  hi... i am new and after nearly 20 years after being disassociated at 15 i would like to make contact with others who have similar difficulties.

  my mother was disfellowshipped shortly after my rebellion and had all ties with both her mother and brother cut and that remains the case.. just really hacked off with not being able to put things in the proper place in my life after all these years.

  for the record i don't know if i believe in god but am searching for some peace as i seem to self destruct on a regular basis.. any ideas anyone?.

  Welcome! I left right before my 16th birthday, too. I hope you are able to put that experience in its proper place. It does feel a little heavy in your life for something you "put behind" you at 15, doesn't it? This place might help you get some perspective.

  If he is willing to talk to a doctor with you, it might make you understand the passengers better and get help with intimacy. If that is something he is unwilling or unable to do then you have some tough decisions ahead. Don't wait or let it drag on, it is soul killing to do that.

  i have been given a piece of birthday cake as it was his birthday yesterday!

  will i be a human hot dog now?.....

  this just got me thinking of all the stupidities of the watchtower teachings, someone very kindly offers you something as innocent as a slice of chocolate cake but we were supposed to turn it down because that peace of chocolate cake now had horns poking out the top of the chocolate frosting.

  I think the root of JWs birthday teaching is strictly pure meanness.not even greed, just that Rutherford was a killjoy and a jerk. Like jihadists can justify their hateful agenda. Like men justify racism, slavery and sexism.mean people will find justifications for evil.
