  so we know that wt settled out of court for an undisclosed sum and that presumably there was a 'gagging order' attached to the settlement.. not having really thought about what a 'confidentiality clause' meant before, i assumed in the past that it meant that you weren't allowed to disclose the amount of the settlement or any details about it.

  but from the total and absolute silence once the settlement was made, i can only assume that it is a total gagging order.. how can the courts allow such a restriction to be put on a victim?

  protecting the abusers and allowing the institution to cover up the lengths they go to to avoid admitting their guilt?

  The original appellate decision stands. The only thing dismissed was the WTBTS appeal of the decision that declared them negligent and awarded her money. They came to a settlement related to the money that they were ordered to pay Candice. The courts decision stands and is a published verdict. The WT has that one as a loss, no matter how some JWs like to consider it a win.

  Well, I'm still think they false prophet mode of thinking. It's good they apologised and really repented, but they can't go back from it imo. They actually believed it. . .so they have a lot to change in the mentality. That doesn't change so easy. They are very wtbrs-like in some ways of thinking.

  I'm not worried about that cult. I just recognised that even though they were doing great $, they are about done now. When new money stops coming in, there is only one direction for them to go. WT is seeing it personally, I think assets and savings being used for operating expenses, combined with a rough market. They might be hanging on by their fingernails.

  Also, even the Camping cult is more transparent with finances than the WT.

  Anyway, he had a lot in common with WT belief thAt all other churches are apostate. I think the ministry is really struggling. The spent a lot on actual ministry expenses.

  It is interesting how quickly the financial trajectory can turn. Interesting how quickly assets can be depleted. That ministry would be an interesting one to look into for those reasons, esp if you know what to do with tax statements and financial audits. The family radio company might be a warning to the wtbts to not go jumping the shark with crazy stuff and expect lifelong devotees to stay that way.

  Seattle rapists who was vetted for parole by local elder then went out to rape and kill.

  At least this guy took himself out. Wonder what counsel he was given. Probably that if it happened before he was JW he was off the hook. Too bad he did nothing to close the cases or help the families in his repentance.

  The family was in turmoil and there was abuse in the home which was why the children were unsupervised by the parents who are now leaders in the congregation. Her reporting her brother exposed her dad's past. As an elder, they couldn't support her reporting as it would expose other JW abuses which were apparently domestic and severe nature.
