  What do you beleive?

  since it is pretty clear what all of you do not believe i am wondering what you do beleive?

  1) who is the creator of the universe?

  3) why do we grow old and die?

  1) Who is the creator of the universe? The question does not demand an answer....and the universe does not demand a response. The universe is what it is, a dimensional fabric of space and time.
  
  2) Why are we here, where are we going? We are here to make the earth a better place and make a difference and not judge others who disagree with our belief systems. Where we go is decided by our own motivations and desires.
  
  3) Why do we grow old and die? If we didnt, there would be no change, no progress, no rejuvenation of human culture. Existence is ephemeral, that is why it is so precious.
  
  4) Will suffering ever end? Without suffering, we would not comprehend joy. What does not kill us makes us stronger.
  
  
  5) Would you go to war against fellow beleivers? War is useless under any circumstances.
  
  
  
  The sacrifices my parents and friends have made for me over my life mean far more to me than something that happened 2000 years. We should look for love, and give love to those around us who are living NOW.

  there is overwhelming evidence that the spiritual founder of the wts, c.t.

  russell, was a prominent free mason in the pittsburgh community.

  he went so far as to declare: "i am a free mason" in several of his lectures.

  Daystar, I do understand where your coming from and agree with your point.

  However, I think the only way to solve this riddle is to actually get hold of the Pennsylvania Masonic Lodge registry, and that would be a Herculean task....however, if there were any active Pittsburgh masons lurking about the site, it might be possible to access this information. I know the Masonic lodges keep meticulous records of initiations, degrees of masonry attained, etc. It would be very cool to have access to these records....

  If a JW widower remarries, what happens to the poor spouse at resurrection?

  this always weirded me out...if a jw's spouse dies (and lets assume they were reasonably young) and that widower re-marries, has a big happy family, etc etc.... now imagine resurrection day.....the last thing you remember is this person was the love of your life, your entire universe, your raison d'etre, and surprise!

  they have moved on without you, and you are left high and dry....can you imagine the psychological nightmare this would be for the "resurrected"????

  would you even want to come back to that??

  I think we will have to agree to disagree and leave it at that. I believe the quotations from Russells speech can certainly be interpreted either way. It boils down to whether one believes Russell was talking literally or figuratively. To state "I am a free mason" is one thing....but he went further: "I am a free and accepted mason", to be accepted means to have passed the masonic initiation rituals. Now others will come back and say this was all meant in a non-literal way, I simply dont buy it. The evidence goes far beyond this speech.

  1) a grave monument covered in masonic images

  2) his early literature festooned with masonic symbols

  3) his obsession with pyramidology, a specialty of turn-of-the-century free masonry.

  If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck....chances are...its a duck....

  Thanks for posting that. As revolting as that Stalin-era, mind-control propaganda is, I find it extremely encouraging that the WTS is TRULY paranoid and clearly TERRIFIED at the consequences of the internet on their little empire. They will NEVER be able to control or stop it and I believe it will eventually lead to their complete collapse (at least in "wired" countries). I wonder though, what about all the JW dating sites out there? These are evil too????? By condemning all internet activity, they will simultaneously be preventing dubs from hooking up for the procreation of new dubs !

  A Story and A Little Bit of Grattitude

  i never was a jw, went to kh a few times as a teenager, didnt feel comfortable with the things said, alot of my associates as an adult were brought up witnesses, but ya know, were pretty much disowned by their families as adults because they chose not to be jw's.. my husband is a d'fed jw, i knew he had been a jw, but it didnt even cross my mind that he would go back to them..

  well, a couple of months after we were married ( around september of last year) this guy started calling our home asking him i guess to come to the kh.

  i flipped out, i started not talking to him, i was very emotionally distraught over this matter, and then i went from being sad to damn mad, and i would just ignore him, because in my mind i saw this as as something that will break up my marriage (my feelings on that havent changed) while searching the internet trying to find things to change his mind about this religion something great happened, i started reading the bible and just in general started to feel better as a person myself and how it was ok for me to feel how i felt, because i felt like i was bamboozled because as much as i love my husband, i would have thought differently about marriage if i knew he was going to become a witness again.

  SHOULD I PIONEER OR COLLEGE?

  do you think the wt has become more lenient or stricter over the year?.

  i am 21 and i remember just 4 years ago going to college was looked at as something negative.

  girls my age, we had plans to be ft pioneers and become secretaries.

  wow,,, finaly a site that can let a disgraesed and disfellowshipped jw finally, have there say, i had the jw's hanging over my head for years and senior members of my family drop in and out of the sect as and when it suits them, dragging any remaiming members with.

  im now free and relived so are you too, .

  and im probably kinder and non racial than those left in, and i dont live under a shadow of fear, or wear a flowery dress, or high neck tops and granny shoes,.

  i learned the truth about the truth after i was df.

  now, i want to get reinstated for family reasons.

  i still want to walk the tightrope to the point of going in service,but cannot promote the teachings of wts as i did for 40 yrs.
