I don't know about where you're from, but over here, it's still theft even if someone gives it back. Perhaps we can call it "illegal borrowing"?
sometimes the police lift illegally parked cars and move them away and the owners must pay to get them back.
Yes, and sometimes police run red lights when they're in a chase or driving to a crime scene. That doesn't mean the general populace can feel free to do the same.

A poster had mentioned that a governing body member friend of his had said that there will be an announcement but the r&f are not going to like it and there is concern of the amount of people who may leave because of it.

i know i have a long time before i have to deal with this but my jw mom did ask me what i will teach my son about god.
i have no plans to tell him god is real.

I don't understand the desire to let kids "make up their own minds" when it comes to religion. Would we let them make up their own minds about what is right and wrong? How about what color the sun is?
So, you would rather force atheism on children? How is that different than forcing right-wing Christianity? You can instill morals in a person without God, you know this. So I don't understand your issue here.
I think I would guide my son away from extremism of any sort, including extreme atheism.

since you have been out of the jw's have you ever noticed how born-again christians get angry when you don't believe in their "interpretation of the bible"?
it never fails since i have been out for over 15 years when i run across a born-again and they don't know my past they will try to force their interpretation down my throat until i show them that i am very versed in the old and new testaments.
i know all of the scriptures that they will bring up and if i disagree with them then i am going to "hell" according to them.
Conversely, I've also known some self-proclaimed "pagans" who rather act the same way... self-righteous, indignant, patronizing...

My son is 5. He has his own system of beliefs about things. I don't challenge them. But I will explain to him that people believe all sorts of things.
In fact, this morning, he was telling me that when we died we didn't come back, that we were just dead. I acknowledged and explained that that is what some people believe, and that others believe that we go to heaven to be with God when we die. Others believe we come back to life as new people (babies) or as animals, etc. And yet others believe our souls are energy that just go back to the energy of God, where we came from to begin with.
He's a very thoughful boy and I'll let him come to his own conclusions, with some small guidance from me. He says he believes that God is a woman and that she has a counterpart that is a male wizard with a wand made of rainbows.
I don't know where he got all that, but it sounds about as rational as any of the other myriad beliefs about gods.
I'll let him believe that sort of a thing until I feel he's ready to discuss unconscious archtypes, etc.

I wish SBF, you could present a reasonable defense for this. I really wish you could. But you can't. Do you really think that the WBTS should be allowed to involve itself in things that it denigrates to its constituents, using phrases like "fornicating with", etc.?
Are you, in effect, saying that the end justifies the means? I'm sure I read a Watchtower article or two at some point on how "True Christians" wouldn't involve themselves with The Great Beast or the Whore Babylon no matter what rationale used or to what ends it was directed, so as to not return, like a dog, to its own vomit. Strong words, but I think very appropo here.
