For one, the various branches of Freemasons and other Masonic orders have been using Jehovah, Yahweh, etc. for a long time. Russell was said to have had some form of ties to Freemasonry, although exactly what those ties were is up for debate.

Before I found that Russell may have had Masonic ties, I had done a considerable amount of research into Masonry, and the ties came as somewhat of a shock.

Other Esoteric (occult) organizations have been using YHVH in rituals, etc. for some time, prior to the Witnesses et al.

So perhaps they will be interested to know that they are not the only ones using the name of Jehovah, and not the first, but perhaps may be the only one that is not considered to originate from occult studies and practices? Or are they?

Those wrong illustrations

I see this as a problem with many if not most Christian religions, treating us as ignorant children while the Authorities in the religion are somehow better, smarter, and more in touch with the Divine. This is utter crap and is a method of mass control. Jesus taught rebellion against this control, in whatever form it comes.

Social Skills..... or lack thereof

i have come to the realization that i have very poor to non-existent social skills.

i have become so scared of rejection ( i wonder why?

) that i only let people get so close and only reveal select personal information after literally years of knowing someone.sometimes when i'm out in public and see someone i know, if they haven't seen me yet i will try and avoid them.

Apostates - blood on their hands?

don't you think the witness leaders would have given up the blood doctrine and 1914 by now had not apostates made such big things of them?

haven't they been painted into a bit of a corner where, if they tried to adjust things on blood now, everyone would come down on them like a ton of bricks?

if apostates were not so vigilant in watching the witnesses' every move, perhaps the governing body would have tried to drop the dubious doctrines by the back door, like so many others that they have discarded when they did not feel to closely watched (organ transplants, for example).

Hmm... I recall being taught that being an apostate entailed being actively opposed to the organization, not just missing a meeting.

We would argue and sometimes be downright verbally abusive with each other. And sometimes it would not subside until we entered the parking lot of the KH. Then, of course, we would pretend everything was okay.

We always thought that this was "Satan the Devil" trying to stumble us into not going to the meetings. It made sense from the standpoint of the JW paradigm. Of course!

In retrospect, I think something different was happening. Our hearts were trying to tell us that something was wrong, very wrong. This is a very difficult, almost impossible, thing to see while caught up in it all.

I was raised as a JW, so I know just where you're coming from. I've gotten much better, but I still feel rather isolated.

Skillz I wish I had:

All the skillz I would have if I'd gotten a college degree, namely physics skillz, psychology skillz.
Sports skillz.
Mad ninja skillz.
Rock 'n roll guitar riff skillz.
Holiday/Birthday skillz. (Still find it hard to get in the spirit. I've found it is very hard for people that weren't in the org to understand this.)
Mad Critical Thinking skillz. (Much better than before, but still...)

The leaders of the organisation were becoming more mellow, cooperating with worldly agencies for the first time. They did not want to upset their membership, so they did this slowly and under the radar.

But, according to doctrine, cooperating with world agencies, the UN specifically, is being in bed with the Great Beast! Doing this "slowly and under the radar" is deceptive and manipulative.

If only the apostates had allowed the organisation to mellow naturally they would have stated their new open stance to the world in time. But apostates had to come along, announce it to the world, and spoil all that!

This is not "mellowing" as you put it. It is "speaking out of both sides" of their mouth, being two-faced, saying one thing while doing another. It is secretly being just as much in bed with the Great Beast as the Harlot is.

Why are you so oblivious to this?
