god bless this site
by hurt dave infor someone who was raised in the "truth" for 17 years it was a very hard and a very scary decision when my father finnally had the "you must choose a side of the fence" speech and when i chose not to do it anymore he flipped his lid and i so "tormented" by my decsion i latched on to "maryjane" to fill the "need".
after living with my parents for two years and then on my own for two more years crying everynoght cause i was alone not knowing way i felt this way this way, i felt a spirtual need at 3:30am i drove to my dads house and beged him to let me came home because the "voices" were drivin me crazy and i needed "guidance" he said well get you a meeting with elders and a "bible study".
so i move back in, had a talk with the elders where they used the bible to call me stupid and i went to there meeting where they used what i said in private and made a whole new talk based around it i broke down crying and prayed to god for the guidacne to make me strong and make the tears stop and the holy spirt led me to this site i moved in with my brother and told my parents i can know longer belive the "truth".

"If I had all the money in the world I would.........."
by anewme ini thought this would be a fun and mentally healthy question to ponder!
i feel better already just to think of this possibility!
for me, before giving away alot of it to charities i would first buy a couple of gorgeous houses strategically set in beautiful surroundings where i could travel throughout the year and avoid harsh winter temperatures.

I'm assuming that "all the money in the world" is representative for a large, but limited, sum of money, like winning the lottery.
I would make sure my parents are taken care of and financially unburdened for the remainder of their lives, and enjoy it. I would set up largish trust funds for the children in my immediate family. I'd buy a modest house in the area for myself. I'd buy a vacation home in the mountains. I'd travel all over with my son for a few months. I'd invest the majority of the rest into long term investments, some into short term, high risk. I'd go back to school. And, well, I'm sure I'd party some of it away.

How can people like Def'd stick around here?
by ithinkisee inhow can people like defd be here and see all the blatant lies by the society and still accept it?.
607 bc and 1914 are based on complete falsehood, and are only borrowed from the adventists and millerites.
the trinity brochure took almost all of their sources out of context.

So tell us, DefD, what is an appropriate question, by your standards?
One which plays into being directed to a JW doctrine. If it doesn't, then it's irrelevant, apostate, or otherwise intentionally argumentative. JWs no like real challenges.

What funny "Saying" do you sometimes use?
by JH inhere in quebec, one funny expression people say is "donne a manger a un cochon, et il viendra chier sur ton perron" .
word for word in english this would mean: feed a pig, and he will shit on your porch.
in other words, sometimes you try to be nice to people, and they don't always try to be nice to you in return.. .

the love of your life can be gone in an instant.. we returned from a weekend trip visiting family and suddenly my husband was vomiting blood, lots of it.
he was in the er within 30 minutes and in the icu in another 30 minutes.

I hope your husband pulls out of this soon and remains healthy after. And thank you for reminding us to treasure our loved ones.

WTS exploiting the system!
by gringojj inmy wife suffers from severe anxiety disorders, panic attacks an such.
as i have been reading posts here i definetly see a correlation between dubdom and anxiety disorders.
because of the life that the wts encourages jws to lead, it leaves other peoples tax money and high insurance costs etc.
