Anybody see Saturday Night Live this past weekend? Poor Ashley had a Milli Vanilli moment and it's been all over the news ever since. It was pretty awkward to watch. It was obvious that she was lip syncing when she performed the first song. After blaming it on her band that night, she has now owned up to it and apologized. And just as she was stepping out of the shadow of gorgeous sis Jessica!

Posting Signs
by nowuask inyou are able to sue the witnesses themselves if you have a no trespassing sign posted.
the watchtower bible & tract society of pennsylvania nor the watchtower bible & tract society of new york, inc. will not protect nor represent them, if you take them to court.
make sure that you notify the courts of the sign being posted.

This is great news, especially for us faders. It's hard to believe that they will actually respect this with previous members who are fading, however. With caller ID, no trespassing signs, how will they be able to hassle the faders now?
This is just too good to be true! I love it.

*sigh* So sad, the loss of yet another childhood icon. I remember his hanging up the keys that instantly stopped the music, Grandfather clock and the occasional visit from his dog, "BeBe". And loved Mr. Moose and the silent Bunny Rabbit. Mr. Greenjeans was my favorite as well.
Thanks for the memories Captain. -

Why would JW's take money from someone they shun?
by unbeliever inthis happened a long time ago but i have a friend (da'd) who is shunned by his family.
his sister asked if he could give her money every month so she could continue to pioneer.
he is very well off and could afford to give her the money.

The scripture, "make friends with unrighteous riches" comes to mind. DF'd and DA'd ones are viewed as non persons, unworthy of the usual decency and respect afforded other JW's or even worldly people. Pathetic.

What did you hope for just to avoid Saturday witnessing?
by BLISSISIGNORANCE inlast night we had a hell of a storm here.
there was thunder, lightning, pouring rain and wind.
personally i love stormy nights, cuddled up to hubby in a warm bed.

Well, one of the few perks of having an unbelieving mate was being able to skip out on weekend service without repercussions from "the friends". You know, the whole "my husband is off on the weekends and I'm lucky(oops)if I can get to the sunday meeting since he's not real favoribly disposed to the truth" bit. Worked like a charm. They never got used to seeing me then so it wasn't a problem. Service sucked any day of the week but I was sure glad I didn't feel I had to waste a saturday morning schlepping out in "God's strange work".

TO THE ELDERS: LEAVE US ALONE!!!
by minimus inthe local needs part dealt with this need.
too many are saying we don't want to confide in the elders and let them shepherd us.
perhaps, if the elders realized that they are nothing but a pain in the butt, they would just leave everybody alone!

Well, I might have been fooled by those pics had I not clicked on "Bethel Community" and read their mission statement.
"Mission: A belief in the uniqueness and gift of each individual".
