Kate, you are 9th if I google it. Google returns different results for every search, depending on a number of factors that it determines will make the result most relevant to the user. It is not only your IP address, but search history, ads clicked on etc that it is tracking about you.

whenever i run into jws i knew, they usually give me a hug and tell me they miss me.. how long have you now been out?.

I didn’t have to convince my wife. It took her just over a year, but she finally opened up to me and told me she never really believed. She just went through the motions. She took her time telling me this, just in case it was a phase I was going through. She didn’t want to say anything she couldn’t take back. Once I started celebrating holidays and birthdays she realized this was not a phase and opened up to me.
That is fantastic. I wonder how many in the congregations do not believe.

As a born in, it is hard for me to comprehend how someone would believe what JWs tell them at the door. As a JW I always used to think that I'd never believe this if some stranger rocked up and tried to convert me. So it seemed unusual that someone such as yourself, raised non-religious would join. Seeing that you went through the early adult searching phase makes more sense now. Maybe you were being rebellious by joining such an unusual religion, and equally rebellious in leaving.

I told the elders that I would take blood and donate blood
by Daniel1555 ini found it important to be honest with my wife.
so i told her about my conscience decision that in a medical urgency i want blodless medicine but if a transfusion of blood or the 4 prohibited components is necessary to save my life or health i would accept it.
this would apply especially also for our child (that is not such a problem as in our country the wts recommends to comply with doctors as they have the right to decide concerning minors).. i showed her the reasons why i came to that conscience decision (biblical and logical reasons) and that jehovah and jesus do not like anyone to die because of this wrong bible application.. .

They cannot disfellowship you (or da really) over blood because you have not taken it. They will try apostasy, but you have not been speaking to others except your wife. If there is JC tell them that you are not apostate or causing divisions, it was just a discussion regarding the life of your children in the remote chance of them requiring blood, when there are no other alternatives. They will say you are manifesting a dangerous attitude towards the slave. You can say it is just this one hypothetical situation and assure them not to worry.

Letter I wrote to the person the caused me to be disfellowshipped
by jwfacts ina thread on another forum reminded me of a letter i wrote to the person that went to the elders and started the proceedings to have me disfellowshipped.
i stopped believing in the religion when i was 25 but continued going for about ten years.
i finally started to fade at 35, but about 6 months after i had stopped going to meetings, a person wrote a letter to the elders about my website, which at the time was anonymous.

Phizzy - that comment is short and to the point. I think you should send it. People need to know that we don't return because we don't want to, not because they won't let us.
V7 - I have thought about it. There are several thousand pages worth of text on jwfacts, so I'm not sure what parts to include or how much to trim back. Also, I doubt a publisher would take on the book and with vanity publishing the costs per book are very high. The other thing is that I still constantly add to the site. The internet allows it to continually evolve, whilst a book is set in stone. I might start releasing small sections as PDF documents that people can download and print off for themselves.

Transfusion Experience from France
by Bells inlong story short - my in-laws know that i strongly disagree with their blood doctrine.
i received 3rd degree burns as a toddler and without blood, i would have died.
no doubt this is much of the reason that i feel the way i do.. my mil sent me an article, saying that i might find it of interest - in other words, it is an example to 'refute my contradictions about blood transfusions'.

The media would not, of course, dispense this information.
That shows that the email is propoganda. The media find JW's irrelevant, so that would not make much difference as to whether the story is reported upon or not. However, the medical fraternity and media are eager for better medical procedure and if something arises that saves lives, then they are keen to report on it. If EPO for babies turns out to been proven to save lives, then it will become standard procedure. It has nothing to do with JWs or their stance on blood in the eyes of anyone other than JWs, apart from the fact that JWs have been willing guinea pigs on which to test new ideas.

Band on the Run. It is terrible how some parents use the meetings as justification of abusing children. It is amazing that your mother never attended after you stood up for it. What happened with you mothers and siblings in the long term regarding religion. Have you written your story elsewhere?
Aude - It would be hilarious to do, but too mean.
Besti - Great concept. Interesting that there is no word for something that becomes stronger with shock, hence the somewhat awkward term antifragile. Those that have committed suicide are tragic testament that disfellowshipped can have tragic affects, but disfellowshipping really builds character in many ExJWs, and I think overall it is counterproductive for Watchtower growth.

I don't know how you sound so even tempered but it is your greatest strength.
Sometimes I need to wait a while to calm down before writing, or go back and reword things to get rid of the anger.
It would be interesting to find out if any of you have confronted the elders or others in the congregation that many have been instrumental in your leaving.
