Kaik, in 1995 it was a just an indeterminate period of time. They have changed it now to a single overlap, so that it appears like it needs to come before the second generation dies out. Subtle but importance difference to the timeframe.

2029 - the year NOBODY from 1914 will still be alive.
by EndofMysteries ingoing by the oldest verified by birth cert living person is 115 years old, in 15 years not only will not "millions now living will never die(1914)" be untrue, but even 1 single person now living will never die will be out.
i wonder what the spin will be then w/ the wt.
it's just around the corner, don't go to school, give us all your money and assets, it's happening real soon now.

In 2012, the United Nations estimated that there were 316,600 living centenarians worldwide. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centenarian
Just a small point, "Millions now Living will never Die" was first presented in 1918. You are right that it is already a failed prophecy, as there are less than 1 million alive from when that statement was made in 1918.
Sadly, JWs are so deluded that most do not think it matters if the GB preach lies.
Here is a history of the Generation changes.

Pope Francis stops his car to bless disabled woman in Italy, BUT WHY CAN'T HE HEAL HER?
by suavojr instopping and telling that woman to stand up and walk!
that would have been something to say "grazie" what happened with all the nice accounts from the bible?
but if could at least get some of the members from the gb to do this..... .

Good question. Catholics talk about the Pope being a continuous line from Peter. Peter could heal, so why not the Pope?

They may need much more to cover some swaps that went south.
What do they need a lot of cash flow for? Each hall is funded by member donations, with enough extra to keep donating to headquarters. They already have enough Bethel properties considering how they have wound back the printing work. Any income they get is just gravy for them. If members leave that does not cause any problem either, as they can offload some of the halls to increase cash flow. The GB are sitting on a pot of easy gold.

Ocean11 - Why would they want to do that? They have 8 million members. If they can convince them to donate just $10 each a month, that is almost $1 billion in revenue they can continue to get each year. Not to mention the free labour to keep building them more properties. I cannot see why they would want to willingly wind things up.
Sure, the doctrines are getting dated. But they can slowly make them main stream. There are other religions that are growing, and JWs can continue to as well for quite a few more decades if they could make the right changes. But even if they don't, and they lost half the members, they can still raise half a billion tax free dollars a year. Not many companies globally can make that sort of claim.

Heartofaboy - "Since Jehovah God and Jesus Christ completely trust the faithful and discreet slave, should we not do the same?" Watchtower2009 Feb 15 p.27
That is such an extreme quote. They could have said "since Jehovah trusted the slave enough to appoint them over the flock, should we not do the same?" Rather, they presumptously add the word "completely", which is without any support, and there is no reason to think God would completely trust any human.

by Thoughtless inhello, sorry for the multiple posts, but this has also been a question of mine to ask.. .

Stuckinarut2- the Privacy Act helps with straightforward issues. For instance, if something inaccurate and defamatory is preventing a person from getting a job. When it comes to the Watchtower, it is a lot more difficult to prove a statement is wrong, or that it is affecting your life. I was advised that if I disagreed with any information they held about me, and it was having a negative affect on my life, the Privacy commissioner could assist in demanding the Watchtower destroy it. I did not pursue it, as most of the information was correct, and having a few lines destroyed would not have made any difference.

No. In Australia, the Privacy Act 1988 regulates that they must destroy anything that is inaccurate about you, but that is all.

"However, we cannot hope to acquire a good relationship with Jehovah if we ignore those whom Jesus has appointed to care for his belongings. Without the assistance of “the faithful and discreet slave,” we would neither understand the full import of what we read in God’s Word nor know how to apply it." Examining the Scriptures Daily 2012 Mar 4
"Let us face the fact that no matter how much Bible reading we have done, we would never have learned the truth on our own. We would not have discovered the truth regarding Jehovah, his purposes and attributes, the meaning and importance of his name, the Kingdom, Jesus' ransom, the difference between God's organization and Satan's, nor why God has permitted wickedness." Watchtower 1990 Dec 1 p.19
"Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible. For this reason the Bible cannot be properly understood without Jehovah's visible organization in mind." Watchtower 1967 Oct 1 p.587
"We must serve Jehovah in truth, as revealed in his Word and made clear in the publications of "the faithful and discreet slave." Watchtower 1996 May 15 p.18
"Thus, the one who doubts to the point of becoming an apostate sets himself up as a judge. He thinks he knows better than his fellow Christians, better also than the 'faithful and discreet slave,' through whom he has learned the best part, if not all that he knows about Jehovah God and his purposes."Watchtower 1980 Aug 1 p.19
"The abundance of spiritual food and the amazing details of Jehovah's purposes that have been revealed to Jehovah's anointed witnesses are clear evidence that they are the ones mentioned by Jesus when he foretold a "faithful and discreet slave" class" Watchtower 1964 Jun 15 p.365
When the time comes to clarify a spiritual matter in our day, holy spirit helps responsible representatives of “the faithful and discreet slave” at world headquarters to discern deep truths that were not previously understood. (Matt. 24:45; 1 Cor. 2:13) The Governing Body as a whole considers adjusted explanations. (Acts 15:6) What they learn, they publish for the benefit of all." Watchtower 2010 Jul 15 pp.22,23

I lent my windsurfer to an elder in the 1990's, I must have been about 21. I was watching as he had an epileptic fit and fell off the board, sinking to the bottom of the lake where we were. Luckily he was only a few meters from shore at the time and the water was only about 1 meter deep. I ran in and pulled him out, surprised at how heavy he was, he was like a stone on the bottom. It really shook me up, as the lake is very deep and if it had happened when he was further out I would never have been able to reach him.
It affected our friendship, as he felt very embarrassed about it and never the same around me. He also never thanked me, but a few weeks later he called me asked that I not judge him, as I must think that if the same thing happened when he is driving he could kill someone. I had not even thought about that before he brought it up.
