  instead, he directed all glory to his father.".

  Jwleaks, I also picked up the watchtower has included "undue" in order to give themselves some wriggle room. However, the next sentence goes on to state that "all" glory is directed to the father when the scriptures show that is not the case.

  'Most mothers would make decisions in favour of the unborn baby and this was a decision that was not in favour of the unborn baby.'

  It is a terrible witness, as the above comment shows. The sad thing is that under JW doctrine, the baby does not get a resurrection, as it died unborn. So the mother did not make decisions, possibly unknowingly, in favour of the child in either this life or the next according to her own resurrection belief.

  as someone brought up as a jw and been an elder and been disfellowshipped (twice!!!

  ) i find it difficult to understand why ex jws have to attack the religion, yes religion, not cult or sect.

  i am no longer disfellowshipped just do not want to practice anymore.

  quickbuild's are something the jws crow about a lot as evidence of yahweh's "spirit" working on them, but amongst the puffery' there was a solid fact that the buildings were often the result of good planning rather than divine assistance.. and, in most cases the buildings were seldom built in a weekend.

  a concrete slab foundation needed time to dry out before walls could be built.

  and before the slab could be poured, the ground had to be levelled and services like plumbing and drainage roughed in.

  We did a quickbuild in Hobart. I worked there every week for 6 months before the 2 day Quickbuild. There is a huge amount of work getting everything organized, plus all the landscaping and under groundwork.

  You don't need to be his father, he will resent you. Be a role model.

  I was in a somewhat similar situation, in that I married a woman with a 10 year old boy when I was 28. I could not replace his father, and to try would have driven a wedge between us. I never hit him, and whilst I tried to guide him, I left the ultimate parenting to his mother. We have ended up as good friends as a result.

  Teenage boys usually become difficult, lazy and rebellious. I had to realise not to take it personally with my stepson, and you will need to do the same. When he is difficult with you, it is not because you are his brother, or a fill in father, it is simply a natural part of growing up.

  When he does stupid things, don't be too hard on him. That is how people learn.

  i learned this past week that my wife is now awake.

  i just shared the pbs newshour segment with her with no comment other than something along the lines of, "jw story on pbs.".

  she is furious at the arrogance of these men.. thats what happens when you get a momma angry!.
