legal action to Baptism of minor annulled?

let's imagine that a 10 year old gets baptized.

parents split and kid never goes back to the hall again.

15 years later kid celebrates christmas and gets df since some dub saw him celebrating.

Fisherman, you must be kidding. Minors are not allowed legally to have sex, vote, drink, join the military or drive, because it is well established that they do not have the maturity to make responsible decisions at that age.

Two out of every three people raised as JWs end up leaving, which is a significant indication that these children did not make a mature and educated decision. Usually at that age they are simply trying to keep family and friends happy. As kids they have no idea what they are doing, it is coercion in every case, based on biased indoctrination.

Today is Christmas, and guess what? Witnesses's were going house to house on my block, TODAY ON CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

i kid you not!!!!!

my family, and i, were on our way to my wife's brothers house today, which is the families christmas tradition.

we open presents in the morning, and at around 10:30, we head over to my brother in laws for breakfast/brunch, with all the family.. so, as we loaded some presents up in the car, and we all jumped, and drove away, at the end of my block, jehovahs witnesses!

JWs success comes from preying on the vulnerable, and Christmas is a good day to find at home depressed and lonely people that don't have family to spend the day with.

What does "solicit money" mean? The lastest letter asking for money ends that Watchtower does not solicit money. Is there some nuance to the word solicit that I am missing?

New NWT deception at Genesis 8:22 to indicate earth remains forever.

i could not find mention of this before.

i was reading genesis 8:22 in the niv and was surprised i had never noticed that this verse gives the impression that the earth will not remain forever.

genesis 8:22 stated by god after the flood, when promising to never again destroy all living creatures.. as long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.

Why do you hope "when it perishes/ceases to exist"? The New Testament is specific that the earth will be done away with and replaced with a new earth. There is also prominent emphasis on heaven. What difference does it make where you are and at what time?

I just received the following message from someone in the UK. These constant calls for money are being noticed.

This letter was just read out at our midweek meeting in the UK and another ex-elder came up to me and said "something doesn't add up" - I asked what he meant. He said they're closing kingdom halls which they can sell and they can sell the London properties just like they have in New York, they seem to always be asking for money lately.
I just said "I know what you mean, you're right. It doesn't add up does it? And think of all the money they are saving by booting out the bethelites!"

When I was still a JW, but wanting to learn about other religions, I went to a born again service. It ended with a lengthy discussion about the widow's mite, and how important donations are. I was disgusted by it, and now here we are with Watchtower rapidly descending down the same path.

I wonder if JWs are starting to get sick of the constant begging for money. They are just like any other religion now that they don't have flow from book sales.

On another note, so this thread isn't completely hijacked, how do you feel about Watchtower changing the wording of Genesis 8:22 from its intended point, in order to prop up a JW doctrine?
