i have received the following request and as i am unable to help, i am turning to you.
apparently they relate to the 1925 prediction.. thanks, doug.
could you provide me with a photocopy of the following publications of the watchtower society?.
You can download virtually all Watchtower publications from http://avoidjw.org/books/
some former jw protesters are wasting their time and energy "exposing" or criticizing the watchtowers 2 witness rule here's why:.
lets suppose the governing body changes this and expells anyone accused of child molestation even if accused by one person.
would that solve the problem?
Watchtower issues are a forest, not a tree. The more people barking up individual trees the better, and the two witness rule is definitely a issue worth exposure.
There are often comments requesting the one question to help a JW leave, or the main issue to expose to bring the religion down. There is no silver bullet. JWs have a vast range of reasons for why they think it is the truth, or why they want to be part of the religion. It takes a variety of tailored approaches to help, and exposure of each and every issue is worth the effort.
i mean, is it advisable to try to wake a friend up?
what about the risk of he/she falling into depression?
anger?
As already noted, if you take it upon yourself to undermine a friend’s belief, be aware they will go through a difficult time and need you to be there to support them through the process.

That is a dilemma I have faced having a website. I am of the opinion that it is better someone has access to the truth, and then choose how they react. It is actually very difficult for a person to wake up, our minds are good at protecting ourselves, so JWs are very skilled at knowing the issues with the religion and justifying them. They won’t wake up until they are ready.
There is the chance some people leaving will end up worse off, but overall most are grateful not to be wasting their lives on a lie The greater good is served by more people leaving, particularly as most that have the strength to leave are already struggling as JWs.

jehovah’s witnesses double down on scripture used to ignore abuse.
by trey bundy / november 9, 2017. gary breaux, a senior jehovah's witness official, speaks on the religion’s official internet video channel.
The ARC raised valid points to show that the two-witness rule does not need to be applied to children. There is a way out for them to ease up on this for the sake of both victims, and their own reputation. Going the other direction shows just how clueless the leaders really are.
publication court of appeal, fourth appellate district division one state of california osbaldo padron, plaintiff and respondent, v. watchtower bible and tract society of new york, inc., defendant and appellant.findingwatchtower has abused the discovery process.
it has zealously advocated its position and lost multiple times.
yet, it cavalierly refuses to acknowledge the consequences of these losses and the validity of the court's orders requiring it to produce documents in response to request number 12. and, in a further act of defiance, watchtower informed the court that it would not comply with the march 25, 2016 order 39 requiring it to produce documents responsive to request number 12. the court, following lopez, supra, 246 cal.app.4th 566, as an incremental step toward terminating sanctions if watchtower persists in its unjustified conduct, imposed monetary sanctions.
"has shown little respect for the superior court's authority."
Great wording, as it aligns with Romans 13:1, which Watchtower claims to abide by.
13 Let every person be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God.
i am having a conversation with a jw and they say you can not be disfellowshiped for this.
is this true?
i thought you can be disfellowshiped for this.
I had an elder Friend who had a Koran, just to find faults in it and argue that with the Muslims.
That same elder Harassed me for reading "Crisis of Conscience".
There is great fear of apostate information. A person is unlikely to become a Muslim or Mormon after reading their holy books, but there is a far higher likelihood of them leaving the religion after reading apostate information. It is all about damage control.
I wonder how Maclean would square having other religions' publications sent to you with the strong admonition of not accepting other religions' literature at the door. Sometimes people will say 'I'll take your Watchtower if you will take my literature,' and we were always told to never take it.
There is quite a lot of variance on this topic. Research everything, be like the Boreans, make sure of all things, but don't spend too much time looking into information not actually provided by Watchtower - a typical form of information control.
One of the reasons that we were not to take literature from a householder was so as not to give the impression that their information was of the same value.

Reading religious information is not a disfellowshipping offence. Bethel and the branches have religious texts in the library that can be read by the bethelites.
I started researching various religious groups whilst at Bethel, and had some free publications posted to me. I asked Don Maclean, one of the branch committee if that was ok, and he said it was fine. He did wonder why I would want to, when the Watchtower and Mankind's Search for God book provided all the information on other religions that I would need. He also warned against spending excessive time look at information not by the Watchtower.
Being disfellowshipped would result not from reading other information, but starting to raise questions about the accuracy of Watchtower information, which is a natural result of research.
it certainly has to be one of the most exciting times to live in as an awake ex witness!.
the wave of momentum we are part of as thousands awaken from the hold of the society is a joy to be a part of.
the internet helps us to see that we are not alone.
I wonder how hard it must have been in the 1970's when people were leaving with little support or knowledge of what others were thinking and feeling. The internet is such a comfort in comparison for people leaving now.
