Jehovah will help our brothers as he always has.
Well, except for the 27 he overlooked that died.
i was just thinking it will be interesting to see how the wts emergency relief fund will operate in the philippines.
ok it worked well with the storm in florida, with cashing in on the insurance cheques.
sorry to generalize, but americans have the disposable income, and the insurance polices for things like this - a thing the wtbts finds very attractive.

i for one would be very interested , if you can quantify what his acheivements have been , these past almost 100 years .. incidental acheivements could do for a start ,.
followed by more meaningfull acheivements ,.
then to top it off , with his major acheivements that he can be accredited with these past 99 years of his kingdom rule ,.
I'll stand in and help the apologists. He has created a spiritual paradise, commonly known as the Watchtower Society, and filled it with the happiest and only loving group of people on earth.
in case you were in doubt, the suggested weekly rate is.
au$50.

The Aussie Dollar is the most attractive. The US ones all look the same to me. They'll be using the green AUD$100 bill soon enough for these photos.

I'm interested to see what is going to happen. There has been very little done by the goverment to commence reconstruction of the city five days later, with a mass exodus of people.
A Filipino girl at work mentioned about the Inglesi de Cristo church coming under fire for providing shelter to its own members and not to others. That will be very much how Jehovah's Witnesses will operate, with possibly a marginal amount of assistance to "worldly people." As with Inglesi de Cristo, who are a cult very much fashioned after the Watchtower, I highly doubt many non-JWs were allowed to take shelter in Kingdom Halls during the storm.
Like always, the Watchtower will spin some story about their amazing relief efforts being a sign of God's blessing, conveniently avoiding mention of how Jehovah's blessing overlooked those JWs that tragically lost their lives.
And to SFPW, your comments are shameful. The last thing needed are cult members trying to convert the emotionally and financially vunerable by carrying Watchtower propoganda. I am disgusted when I go to funerals and see JWs handing out tracts to the grieving, with total disregard for the persons personal religious views (which are generally far more comforting that the JW message of, "your loved one is gone and rotting in a grave, to be photocopied by God who knows when") and your comments fall in the same level of disrespect.
i've been in need of a new laptop for a long time.
no, i mean it - a really long time.
the old dell that we have has a floppy lid and is woefully underpowered although it does build up my upper body strength every time i pick it up.. the last 6 months has been a bad time to buy something new though with the haswell processors on the horizon promising better battery life and also screen technology seems to have been leaping ahead recently to a new hi-dpi standard.. so apple finally released their mac book pro and at the same time dell has released an xps 15 ultrabook which looks like a pretty good alternative and probably better 'value'.. pro's and con's?
I'm jumping in late here, but there is no way I would consider Windows. I have used Windows laptops at work for 15 years, and Macs at home for the last 4. Each time I jump on the Mac I still get a buzz out of how good it is, and I curse every day I start the Dell.
I have a 13" Mac pro retina. Almost every aspect is just that much superior to Windows, and the retina display is fantastic after looking at a normal display. When I use the Mac for non retina programs like Excel I am shocked that I every put up with such pixelation. There are a few things that take time to get used to on a Mac, but with a Google search it only takes a few minutes to find the best programs and ways to do things.
The track pad is light years beyond anything you can get with Windows. With my 2 yo Dell/Windows 7 I cannot even scroll without cursing, with the Mac touchpad scrolling and swiping and all the other things it does is amazing.
cruising down to the city this afternoon we were behind a group of j-dubs on the train.
part of the conversation centered around the "generation" teaching.
all of them clearly trying to wrap their heads around it.
SFPW - We don't serve Jehovah with a stopwatch
Wrong. JWs are one of the most prominent religious groups currently promoting specific dates for the end of the World. Other religions dont serve with a stopwatch, they serve God without needing false prophecies of the second coming. But for JWs, that stopwatch and end of the world predictions have been both the stick and the carrot.
figured i'd give them a shot to explain why i was expelled from the congregation 23 years ago without counsel or a jc.
dear sirs:.
i attended the xxxx congregation in the mid-1980s as a teenaged unbaptized publisher.
Please keep us updated as to the reply you receive. You deserve to know. To expel and punish a member with shunning, without a fair trial or revealing the crime is worse than even the most despotic rulerships.
we had another couple over this weekend.
after taking a reasonable hike in the woods, we came back to the house, made a fire and began to talk a bit.
these folks are long time friends of ours and are (like us) slowly easing out of the kingdom hall.
They will save a lot of money if they have the followers download their own Study edition, and drop the Wachtower and Awake. Having a date on these meant a huge amount of additional printing and wastage. They could then just release a few new brochures each year that do not become obsolete and distribute those instead. It would save considerable costs.

Annual text is "let your kingdom come" study articles in January are about how great it is that the Kingdom has been reigning for 100 years.
How do they expect to mention such a concept without raising more questions than answers? In what way has this invivible reign been great, and for who? Does Jesus still have another 1000 years to reign, or is there only going to be a 900 year paradise under Jesus?
i asked my son quite randomly before bed what he thinks the meaning of life is.
like always, his answer brought a smile to my face.
he said, "to have a great time .. to have fun and have friends ... and be happy.
Nice photo Besty ... good memories.
