The whole concept of separating but not being able to remarry, without evidence of adultery, is heartless enough. To make it even harder than necessary shows what terrible rule-based, gnat-picking religion it really is.

New Loophole Created: You can cheat on your spouse without him/her being able to divorce you
by ILoveTTATT2 inthe new "pillowgate" video exposed a loophole in the witnesses´s thinking, showing how dangerous and stupid legalism is.. this loophole is sure to destroy many people´s lives.. 1) they said that two men masturbating at the same time in front of each other does not constitute "porneia".. 2) "porneia" is the only biblical reason for divorce.. 3) from 1) we can also get two women masturbating in front of each other, or a man and a woman masturbating in front of each other, does not constitute "porneia".4) most people would consider masturbating at the same time with another person to be cheating, and a logical reason for divorce.. so this will lead to many witnesses going to the elders and being told that they cannot divorce this person who clearly cheated on them.
then, if this person (the "innocent mate") divorces and marries someone else, then that person would be the one possibly disfellowshipped!the implications of the loophole are so stupid and so damaging!i predict another flip-flop.
"considering things more closely, this is "porneia"... or doubling down on it ("sorry but that is what the biblical limits are") or just fading away into those things that only 1% of jw´s know it´s a rule....

i'm pimo and very much not wanting to believe, but like the daniel statue prophecies, these ones about jesus stick in my mind and give me "hmmm, maybe" moments..

The gospels were written decades after Jesus is said to have died, with virtually no corroborating evidence that the details contained in the accounts happened. It would not be difficult for the gospel writers to include information that aligns with OT writings to make their story more compelling.
The stories in the NT are extraordinary. What I find more extraordinary though is that a man was creating huge issues with the Pharisees, performing miracles and raising dead people, and history is virtually silent about this, apart from the founders of this new religion.
It is far more logical to think the coincidences with prophecy never happened at all, and were added to manipulate the simple people of the times to join.

Yes you are probably right, same as how the child abuse reports lead them to saying how much better they handle this than any other organisation.
I can't understand how sisters do not feel unfairly treated, and see it as being an out of date boys club. I guess the ones that do feel strongly enough are the ones that leave.

Are Watchtower followers going to find these discussions compelling enough to recognise that Watchtower sexism is unacceptable?

Why the 2 witnesses rule is not worth attacking........barking up the wrong tree!
by krismalone insome former jw protesters are wasting their time and energy "exposing" or criticizing the watchtowers 2 witness rule here's why:.
lets suppose the governing body changes this and expells anyone accused of child molestation even if accused by one person.
would that solve the problem?

Watchtower issues are a forest, not a tree. The more people barking up individual trees the better, and the two witness rule is definitely a issue worth exposure.
There are often comments requesting the one question to help a JW leave, or the main issue to expose to bring the religion down. There is no silver bullet. JWs have a vast range of reasons for why they think it is the truth, or why they want to be part of the religion. It takes a variety of tailored approaches to help, and exposure of each and every issue is worth the effort.
