And so what Baba? Are you trying to say that if you are not born in suddenly your opinion is less valid? Is that what you are trying to say?

Why don't you just take it like a man?
by AK - Jeff inin a recent thread, i was basically called out in this manner.. here is part of the quote:.
mean no disrespect with the following but i have to ask, when you disassociated yourself what did you think would happen?
did you expect witnesses to suddenly change to accommodate you?

Oh that’s such bull, when you go on a date you don’t expect to be raped, when you put on your favorite outfit and walk out the door you don’t expect to get raped, when you leave the Watchtower you know exactly what o expect. You can’t sit around and say “well I never knew this would happen..”, shame on you for even trying to compare on situation to the other.

No Mr. Flipper there are plenty of times when I know I’m wrong, it just so happens that this s not one of them. Your assertion that newspapers “practically ALWAYS” print the religious affiliation of someone who has committed a crime is wrong, that’s not to say that they don’t but those cases are not the norm, you were trying to be snarky to Wizard-CA and thought no one would call you on it, I have a feeling you don’t like being told when you are wrong.

Actually Mr. Flipper you are wrong, religion is only mentioned when it is relevant to the crime or news story but otherwise you never hear of t. I’m not blind and I read the newspaper and watch the news every day, in fact the first thing I do in the morning is pick up my copy of the LA Times, your attempt to try and discredit Wizard-CA was pathetic at best.

Actually Mr. Flipper you are wrong, the cases you have pointed to all mentioned the religion because it was an important part of the case. The case with the little girl is a perfect example of this, the religion was mentioned because the woman taught Sunday school to other children and came in contact with this little girl thru that. The media 95% of the time won’t mention the religious preference of a murderer or child abuser unless it has some importance to the case. I dare you to go open the LA Times or NY Times or any major newspaper and try to find a news story where they actually mention the religious preference of someone accused of a major crime. Go on, go look, I’ll wait here for you.

You can go into a store or restaurant and go up to someone who is shunning you and make them acknowledge you but so what? When you sit down or leave the store they’ll still think of you as less than pond scum so why even bother? That’s my point, I did however get some insight with Jeff’s post where he pointed out all the things he had done for the same people that now shun him and it’s heart breaking,
I have to ask, how long have JW’s been DF’ing people for? What makes any of you think that forcing them to acknowledge your existence is suddenly going to change their ways? I hope I’m wrong and they have made changes to things in the past but I don’t think this is one of those things that they will be changing.

Whitedove,
I suppose if it hurt or bothered me you would have a valid point, but the thing is that at this point it doesn’t, to me they are just people I used to know and friends I used to have, It would hurt to constantly want to be acknowledged by a group of people that don’t give a darn about me, it would also hurt a lot more to go thru life feeling wronged and like the eternal victim, I refuse to spend another second feeling badly because of this religion.

Jeff,
I suppose that’s where you and I differ; I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t care what they say/think of me. I know why I left, I know that I’m a moral person, and I’ve done nothing to deserve being shunned, I can hold my head high, if they chose to ignore me or have nothing to do with me, that’s fine, they have the right to do that, their loss, not mine. The way I see it I have clean hands in all of this, I’ve never disrespected them, I’ve never been malicious towards them and I’m the better for it, I can say that at least I’ve done my best to treat them the way I want to be treated and that’s more than enough for me. I’m only responsible for my actions not theirs.
