<<men who drank alcohol every day had a 41 percent reduced risk of heart disease compared to a seven-percent reduction for those who drank only once a week. >>
Thats a pretty big percentage difference. Did they say what kind of alcohol?

drinking every day chases heart disease away in men only: study .
drinking alcohol every day cuts the risk of heart disease among men but women who indulge less frequently enjoy the same benefits, according to a study published friday in the british medical journal.

Like daystar I "borrowed" some of Blunt's tunes off Limewire but have no desire to but his cds. Blunt's in the same category as John Mayers for me. Bland yet overplayed to death.
LOVE the new Pearl Jam and Chili Peppers discs

How weird is this?
by Mulan ini had an eye exam recently, expecting to need a new prescription.
for about the 4th time in a row, my eyes have improved.
the eye doctor told me that if i was a new eye patient, he would tell me i didn't need glasses.. i've worn them since i was 16 and i am now 60. i have astigmatism, but he said it is so slight, that i could easily get by with the lowest correction in reading glasses.. he said i didn't need to get new glasses unless i wanted to get some.

So there's hope for mine too? Excellent!
I don't really mind wearing glasses except when they fogg up coming indoors in cold weather.

Brainwashed Children
by I-follow-the-narrow-path ini noticed an elder showed a picture of "paradise" and asked "who are the people dipicted"... .
serveral children answered and said the same thing "they (look like they) are witnesses" -- .
it was as if these children were taught that only jws are right... which they probably were.

Those pictures are horrid things to show children!
I can't help but think it strange that I couldn't watch certain cartoons because they had violence in them but pictures like they above ones were encouraged?

The tale of two(x2) sisters and the Around the World Tour
by james_woods inin oklahoma city, back in the buildup to 1975 (lets say about 68 or 69), there were four very special older jw ladies who had a great influence on my life.
i would like to say something nice about each one.. starting with lois & marie...(lois vandoren & marie salyer for those old enough to remember).
lois & marie were probably the most kind and faithful jw ladies i have ever met.

The older ladies in my old hall were all sweethearts, genuine nice people and sincere in their faith. They were not like the rest of the hall at all.

I did read The Red Tent a while ago and really enjoyed it. Didn't like her other book though, not of the same quality at all.

Has anyone read "The Birth House" by Ami Mckay? It's based in Nova Scotia and has gotten really good reviews.
This will probably be my next purchase.
