i was 11, coming out of the 5th grade, my dad had just been to jail for having sex with a kid who was 14 at the time, he has been having sex with her for two years and everyone in the 1900 person town i grew up in new it.
i remember always being the last picked for everything.

okay....i tried reading the whole thread about not taking christ out of xmas http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/97085/1.ashx, but really, no, that is just too much to read through...and i figured no one would both to see what i had written anyway...so here are a few other reasons for those of you to celebrate on dec 25th if you don't have "christ in your christmas".
i suppose if you don't have christ in your christmas we could call it "christmas lite" or "christ free christmas" "nonchrist latte with half decaf".

The holidays are the few times of the year that I get to experience "family" life. My partner's family have accepted me as one of their own and I look forward to all holidays for that reason. Christmas isn't about Christ for me either, it's about love, acceptance and friends. A chance to show your appreciation for them.

i can't drive, mow the yard, wash the car, change oil, work on the house, lift anything, all a part of recovery from the operation.
it's driving me crazy.
tvs lost it's interest, computing isn't keeping my interest, can't have sex, drink alcohol.
I say if you are thinking this is what retirement will be like then play it up. Practice makes perfect and all that. Get yourself some lovely polyester pants, accessorise with a 'grampy' sweater ( you know.... one with 3 buttons in the front, should be brown and slightly itchy ) You may either wear orthopedic shoes or brown sandals with black socks pulled up to your knees, your choice! For lazy nights at home you shall need a pipe for the *ahem* tobacco that Elsewhere got you. For evenings on the town may I suggest bingo ( don't forget your lucky rabbit's foot or in a pinch, troll doll ) or the local senior's centre for Jello or pudding. If people say you seem a little young to be at bingo or the senior's centre just smile blankly and yell "eh!? You've got to speak up sonny, no need to mumble!!"
