Low Low Low Self Esteem
by joelbear inman, if i don't solve this problem i'm gonna be dead one way or another.. i know i need to build self esteem.
i am focusing on bringing things into my life that i find real fulfillment in.. i had little fulfillment as a witness.
really only the pleasure i got from bible studies, of which i really only had about 10 real ones of.

((((((((((JoelBear)))))))))) You "shithead"....(That is meant affectionately and not as a slam....so please don't anyone take offense) you had me frightened, I'm a relative newcomer here and have always enjoyed your threads and posts. I guess you probably don't realize how much help you are to others....those of us who have become members of JWD and those of us that lurked for a while!
You've been given a lot of useful suggestions and the only one I can add is.....It is never to late to further your education. You don't stop learning 'till you stop breathing. I went back to school at 47...I know of others a lot older. You are a valuable and wothy person....don't give up. The best revenge to anyone that hurts you is to be happy and be successful at whatever you choose to do.
Hang in there and fall back on all of your friends here!

Pregnant women that have any part of their swollen anatomy exposed (I won't even go into the picture of Brittney, but then for the most part that child commits a fashion crime every time she walks out the door) and maternity clothes that are so figure hugging that every bulge is exposed or hanging out of some part of the garment.
And I don't care for exposed undergarments, i.e. bras that are exposed, tube or strapless tops with bra straps exposed and the worst.....thongs sticking out above low riding jeans on women and undershorts sticking out of lowrider pants on men, you know the pants that young men must grab in the crotch area while walking so they don't fall down.

Are you honest when you say your age?
by JH ini know people who don't say their real age, like take off 2 or 3 years.... my mom looks younger than her age, so she sometimes took off a few years.
gee, i'm just the opposite, i rather say my real age, and wait for a compliment saying "hey you look good for your age".
how about you, do you ever lie on your age?

When I was 16 and 17, I looked 21+ so it was no problem getting served. However I turned 21 in September, the drinking age was dropped back to 19 for a while....and I got carded everywhere I went...what a pain.
I'm now 54 (as of September 8) and I'm always honest about my age, however some days I feel 16 and some days I feel 96...!

An oil pastel for Robdar and this forum
by eisenstein inwhen i first found this forum it was a year after september 11. i had recently seen the dateline special on the pedofiles in the organization and was completely dismayed.
everyone on this board has inspired me through the last couple or so years, especially robdar.
she told me to start doing my artwork again to express my thoughts.. here is something i did when i was younger, but scanned it in to the computer and in photoshop and retouched it some.

WOW E. absolutely gorgeous. If you ever decide to reproduce as a poster, I'd love to purchase to hang in my office. Glas to see you followed such good advice. My daughter writes poetry....often dark....but expression, no matter what medium used, is extremely important. Please, if you choose to, share future works with us.

How many exJWs are now pagan? Why?
by Sirona ini was just wondering how many exjehovahs witnesses are now pagan?
of the exjws i've met, quite a few either describe themselves as pagan or pretty much have "pagan" type religious views.. i wonder if it is a backlash against the control of the jws - to choose a religion which has "no rules" as such.
also, is it rebellion?
-
Carol
I must not understand what is meant by pagan in this thread. I consider myself a Christian as I believe in Christ, however I don't believe in organized religion. I consider myself a spiritual person. While a JW I was taught that anyone not a JW was therefore a Pagan! So yes, I guess I am a Pagan that believes in Jesus and nature!

If you can transfer the information from the CD-Rom to other JW's who are willing to accept the rules...where's the problem? I'm still a witness of Jehovah....I was baptised....I still believe in him.....I just don't go to meetings at the "temple" (KH) as I don't wish to make a "showy display of my faith" and and I witness by my lifestyle of being as kind to people as I can and offering to help others as much as I am able and treating others as I would wish to be treated.....and you have, on your site, that ever so nice red box that warns about the content of your site and that it might be offensive to some...so again I ask where's the problem?
I don't have a lot of $$ right now, but if you have or are starting a defense fund, please let us know where to send a contribution!

The only thing funny about any of this is the fact that the JW's are "busy waiting for Jesus' second coming and don't get involved in wordly peruits" and that they "follow the letter of the law"! They are not clergy....but they take advantage of the clergy/congregant confidentiality laws.....they only report in states/countries that require it by law...and because the are "elders" and not trained clergy....they can't even be held civily or $$$$ responsible for their misconduct. So where does the "not being part of this system of things" come in? They should all be taken out and stoned, but only after their genitals are removed with a rusty knife and without the benefit of anestesia! Not only the molesters....but the elders that have knowledge of the crime and ignore it!

JW says they're told to report molestation to the police?
by thom injust got this email from a jw about an hour ago: .
"i just went to an anti-jw site.
i was surprised to learn that we cover up child molesters, especially since it was announced that we should report child abuse accusations to the police.

Carol
I was going to comment, but the idea that they would even have to announce from the platform that is is policy to report this to the police and the idea that hey have such control over someone that that person would have to ask the society/elder's/congregations permission to report such a violation.......and then to think the WTBTS would hold to the two witnesses need rule..or the victim would have to go before the JC and maybe be df'd...MAKES ME SICK. I am so very thankful I faded and did not raise my son or daughter in this cult.
