That is terribly sad. Sorry about your friend. It really irks me that people's lives and their serious problems are put into the hands of men who often don't have a clue.

I'm still active - but not willingly! My point score is 13. I would get a lot more if I could count my husband!! However, I did talk him into skipping out of the meeting yesterday morning! Had a lazy Sunday morning at home - yippeee!!
Thanks for the good question. I was interested myself. I really like your posts Richie! You're a riot!!

Does anyone Love Jehovah anymore?
by defd in.
i know people have left for people issues but what about jehovah god and jesus?
what have they done?.

Definitely love Jehovah. I live in a beautiful area with lots of trees, plants, wildlife. I really think He made all that for us. I don't love the way the organization portays him. They make fun of other religions for the way they portray God. The God I worship wouldn't kill billions of innocent people, children included. I just don't think it's gonna happen that way. And if it does, I guess I'll be one of those destroyed cuz I woulnd't be all too happy walking around a bunch of dead bodies.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm fortunate in that I don't have any family that are Witnesses. Just my husband and me and 2 kids. So I won't have to deal with the extended family issue. It's stories like yours that I have read here that really made me realize how messed up this whole thing is. That someone should have to suffer so much pain because they don't agree with something anymore. I wish you the best!! Hang in there.

The New and Hidden Class Consciousness of Jehovah's Witnesses
by truthseeker inclass consciousness is defined as identification with other members of ones own class and awareness of its relationship with other classes.
a remarkable change has happened in the last ten years among jehovah's witnesses, and this is largely due to the way we communicate.. .
the internet has brought about huge social changes in the way we think, do business and research, and how we spend our free time.. .

I am of this class and totally agree with your analogy. I have one person in the congregation who is more or less like me also. We spend a great deal of time criticizing what's going on. She's a little more ingrained than me as she has been at it all her life. But even she can see what's going on. I directed her to the UN site. She felt it was disturbing, but I'm not sure that she believed it. I've been thinking about giving her this site so she can get some more food for thought. I am most definitely living that double life you speak of - frustrating!

Jehovah's Witness hope, does it remove the sting of death?
by free2beme inrecently i was speaking to my witness sister, and the topic of someone dying in her husband's family came up.
she mentioned that her husband (a non-witness) has a hard time with death and will not even go back to his grandparents property, 20 years after their death, as he does not do well with the memories and death itself.
my sister made the statement, "i explained to him that i hoped one day i could help him come to terms with death, by learning what it really is and the hope in store.

I have always hated how they turned a funeral into a big witness fest. Then you hear all the comments afterwards - wasn't that just a great funeral talk?? Such a good witness! Ugh! What about poor Dead Brother Joe's family??

Try and come up with some game to play - how many ugly dresses can you pick out? Or try and guess how many people really don't want to be here? I went a few weeks ago and really don't even remember what went on, pretty much tuned it out. Reward yourself with something when you get home! Good luck!!
